At the invitation of President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Senegal El Malick Ndiaye, President of the House of Representatives of the Kingdom of Morocco Rachid Talbi Alami, President of the Inter- Parliamentary Union (IPU) Tulia Ackson and Secretary General of the IPU Martin Chungong, on the morning of July 22, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, on behalf of the leaders of the Party and State of Vietnam, together with his wife Nguyen Thi Thanh Nga and a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation, left Hanoi to officially visit Senegal, Morocco and attend the 6th World Conference of Speakers of Parliament, and conduct bilateral activities in Switzerland.
The delegation accompanying National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and his wife included members of the Party Central Committee: Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Duc Hai; Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long; Secretary General of the National Assembly, Head of the National Assembly Office Le Quang Tung; Chairman of the National Assembly's Committee on National Defense, Security and Foreign Affairs Le Tan Toi; Chairman of the National Assembly's Committee on Law and Justice Hoang Thanh Tung; Chairman of the National Assembly's Committee on Delegation Affairs Nguyen Thanh Hai; Deputy Secretary of the National Assembly Party Committee Vu Hai Ha; Permanent Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly's Economic and Financial Committee Le Quang Manh; State Auditor General Ngo Van Tuan; Deputy Minister of National Defense Nguyen Truong Thang; Permanent Deputy Minister of Public Security Tran Quoc To.
Vietnamese Ambassador to Algeria and Senegal Tran Quoc Khanh; Vietnamese Ambassador to Morocco Le Kim Quy; Vietnamese Ambassador to Switzerland Phung The Long; Ambassador, Head of the Vietnamese Delegation to the United Nations and international organizations in Geneva Mai Phan Dung; Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Dang Hoang Giang also joined the delegation.
This is the first foreign trip of National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man to Switzerland, an official visit to Morocco and Senegal; for Morocco, this is the first official visit of a key Vietnamese leader in 6 years and for Senegal, since the two countries established diplomatic relations.
The working trip contributes to consolidating and further strengthening the friendly relations and mutually beneficial cooperation between Vietnam and Senegal, Morocco and Switzerland; promoting cooperation between Vietnam and the African and European regions.
At the same time, the working trip is also an opportunity for Vietnam to diversify economic and trade cooperation, promote cooperation in many fields, including parliamentary cooperation with partners Senegal, Morocco and Switzerland, attract maximum international resources to serve the country's development goals in the era of national development, and enhance the image and position of Vietnam as well as the Vietnamese National Assembly in the international arena.
The working trip of the National Assembly Chairman also contributes to strongly affirming the country's guidelines, policies and great efforts in socio-economic development, promoting multilateralism, creating motivation for demonstrating the role of a responsible member, making active and substantive contributions of Vietnam to the activities of the IPU and the United Nations, promoting parliamentary relations and cooperation with countries and international organizations, promoting the role and position of Vietnam and the National Assembly of Vietnam in the international arena./.
