Previously, at 10:35 p.m. on September 25, Quang Nam Central General Hospital (located in Nui Thanh District, Quang Nam) admitted patient BTH (30 years old, in Hon Dat District, Kien Giang ) in a state of difficulty breathing with a wound in the right chest area, the whole body was immobile, hands and feet were cold, consciousness was lethargic, pulse and blood pressure could not be measured...

After surgery, the patient's health is progressing well.

Emergency ultrasound results showed blood in the pleura and pericardium. After placing a temporary pleural drain, a lot of blood was seen.

Realizing that this was a complex penetrating chest wound, suspected of penetrating the heart, the patient's condition was very dangerous, the progression was unpredictable, and the risk of death was very high..., the on-duty team immediately raised the red alert for the entire hospital, mobilizing all human resources to participate in both active resuscitation and transferring the patient to the operating room 15 minutes after receiving him.

Doctors urgently opened the chest, checked the pleural cavity and found a lot of bleeding, a torn right pericardium, and a 2cm wide wound penetrating into the right atrium. Doctors proceeded to suture the heart wound, remove all the old blood, and control vital signs...

After surgery, the patient is now awake, responsive, and has stable vital signs. The patient's condition is improving and he is being monitored at the hospital.

Doctor Nguyen Luong Tan said that penetrating chest wounds are often very serious, affecting breathing, cardiovascular system... If not treated promptly, the patient will fall into a state of irreversible shock, which can lead to death or leave serious sequelae.

The reason why the patient was stabbed in the heart, leading to critical condition and requiring emergency medical attention, is still unclear.
