Typhoon Fengsheng is expected to enter the East Sea this evening, with its intensity gradually increasing.

It is forecasted that on the evening of October 19, Typhoon Fengshen will enter the East Sea, becoming the 12th typhoon of the year. Currently, the typhoon is moving over the eastern central Philippines with winds of level 8, gusts of level 10, and by 7am tomorrow morning it will increase to level 9, gusts of level 11 in the East Sea.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, at 7:00 a.m. this morning (October 19), the eye of the storm was located at about 14.1 degrees north latitude; 121.5 degrees east longitude, in the eastern central region of the Philippines. The strongest wind near the eye of the storm was level 8 (62-74 km/h), gusting to level 10. Moving west-northwest at a speed of about 20 km/h.

It is expected that this evening, storm Fengshen will pass through the Philippines into the East Sea, becoming the 12th storm this year.

As of 7 a.m. on October 20, the storm was moving northwest at about 20-25 km/h. The center of the storm was at about 17.8 degrees north latitude; 117.8 degrees east longitude, in the eastern sea area of ​​the northern East Sea. The strongest wind near the center of the storm was level 9, gusting to level 11. Natural disaster risk: Level 3 in the eastern sea area of ​​the northern East Sea.

At 7:00 a.m. on October 21, the storm continued to move northwest, at about 20-25 km/hour. The center of the storm was located at about 18.5 degrees north latitude; 113.1 degrees east longitude, in the eastern sea area of ​​the northern East Sea, about 220 km northeast of Hoang Sa special zone. The strongest wind near the center of the storm was level 10-11, gusting to level 13. Natural disaster risk: Level 3 in the northern East Sea area.

At 7:00 a.m. on October 22, the storm continued to move west-southwest at about 10 km/hour. The center of the storm was at about 17.1 degrees north latitude; 111.3 degrees east longitude, in the sea west of Hoang Sa special zone. The strongest wind near the center of the storm was level 10, gusting to level 13. Natural disaster risk: Level 3 in the northern East Sea (including Hoang Sa special zone).

From the next 72 to 120 hours, the storm will move mainly in the southwest direction, about 10-15km per hour and gradually weaken.

At sea, the eastern sea area of ​​the northern East Sea has winds gradually increasing to level 6-7; near the storm center, winds are level 8-9, gusting to level 11, waves are 2.5-5m high. The sea is very rough.

Warning: From October 20 to 22, the northern East Sea area (including Hoang Sa special zone) may be affected by strong winds of level 10-11, gusting to level 13.

All boats operating in the above mentioned danger zones are susceptible to storms, whirlwinds, strong winds and large waves.

On land, today (October 19), the area from Nghe An to Quang Ngai will have moderate rain, heavy rain, and some places will have very heavy rain and thunderstorms. The common rainfall in the area from southern Quang Tri to Quang Ngai is 60-120mm, some places over 220mm. Nghe An to northern Quang Tri is 40-80mm, some places over 150mm.
