Typhoon No. 5 has intensified and is forecast to potentially strengthen further.

(Baothanhhoa.vn) - According to the National Center for Meteorological and Hydrological Forecasting, the strongest wind speed near the center of the storm is currently level 14 (150-166 km/h), with gusts up to level 17, and is likely to intensify further.

At 7 PM on August 24th, the center of Typhoon No. 5 was located at 17.9 degrees North latitude and 109.4 degrees East longitude; approximately 410km east-southeast of Nghe An and 390km east-southeast of Ha Tinh , and about 340km east of northern Quang Tri. The typhoon is moving westward at a speed of 15-20 km/h and has the potential to intensify further.
