The War Remnants Museum is located on a small plot of land at the corner of Le Quy Don - Vo Van Tan Street, Vo Thi Sau Ward, District 3, Ho Chi Minh City. The museum has more than 20,000 artifacts, documents and images related to the war, divided into many topics such as war crimes, Agent Orange victims, prisoners of war, victory and the desire for peace...

The War Remnants Museum was established on September 4, 1975 and is currently a member of the Vietnamese museum system, the Museums for World Peace (INMP) and the International Council of Museums (ICOM).

The museum specializes in researching, collecting, preserving and displaying evidence of crimes and consequences of wars of aggression against Vietnam. Thereby, calling on the public to raise awareness against unjust wars, protect peace and solidarity and friendship between peoples of countries around the world.

The museum currently has 9 permanent exhibitions on the developments of the war in Vietnam from 1946 to 1975. With nearly 1 million visitors annually, the museum has become one of the cultural and tourist attractions that attracts Vietnamese and international audiences. This is not only a place to preserve memories but also a point connecting the past with the present, educating the younger generation about patriotism and the desire for peace.

In the museum's notebook of impressions, there are many entries from domestic and foreign tourists. Notably, there are entries from American tourists that evoke many emotions in readers.

On September 5, 2018, for the first time, the War Remnants Museum - the only representative of Asia - entered the Top 10 most attractive museums in the world voted by tourists through the website TripAdvisor.

Now, the War Remnants Museum is also a place for the next generation of Vietnamese people to live happily in peace.

In 2020, TripAdvisor continued to award the Travellers' Choice award to the War Remnants Museum for consistently receiving great reviews from travelers on TripAdvisor.

This is also a place where international friends come to learn about war and build aspirations for peace and development with the Vietnamese people and the world.

In 2023, Stasher - a luggage-watching application for travelers - announced a list of the 99 most popular tourist destinations in the world based on aggregated data from TripAdvisor and Google Reviews. The War Remnants Museum is the only representative of Vietnam in the Top 99 places.

In 2024, the War Remnants Museum continued to be awarded the Travellers' Choice Best of the Best 2024 award by TripAdvisor, voted in the Top 1% best and Top 10 most attractive attractions in Asia.
