Nghe An - Soviet Nghe Tinh Museum officially opened

(PLVN) - The Nghe An - Soviet Nghe Tinh Museum officially came into operation and is expected to become a creative cultural space, an attractive educational and experiential address for the public, starting a new journey in "telling Nghe An stories through heritage".

On the morning of June 25, 2025, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Nghe An province held a ceremony to announce the Decision to establish the Nghe An - Soviet Nghe Tinh Museum. The event marked an important step forward in the work of preserving and promoting the values ​​of cultural and historical heritage in the province.

Nghe An - Soviet Nghe Tinh Museum was established on the basis of merging two units, Nghe An Museum and Soviet Nghe Tinh Museum, according to Decision No. 1473/QD-UBND dated May 23, 2025 of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee.

The Museum is a public service unit under the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism; with the functions of scientific research; collecting, documenting documents, artifacts and tangible and intangible cultural heritage; inventorying, preserving; displaying and introducing documents, artifacts,educating on historical and cultural traditions of Nghe An province, the Nghe Tinh Soviet movement and other service activities of the Museum according to the provisions of law.

The museum has legal status, its own seal and account, and is under the direct and comprehensive management of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism; and is subject to the direction, inspection and professional guidance of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

At the ceremony, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced decisions on personnel work. Ms. Le Thu Hien, Director of the Nghe Tinh Soviet Museum, was appointed as Acting Director of the Nghe An - Nghe Tinh Soviet Museum. Four Deputy Directors were appointed, including two former Deputy Directors of the Nghe Tinh Soviet Museum and two former Deputy Directors of the Nghe An Museum.

The merger of the two museums is of great significance, contributing to the implementation of the province's policy of streamlining public service units towards efficiency, while improving operational efficiency and promoting the value of revolutionary cultural heritage of Nghe An homeland.

According to Decision No. 1473/QD-UBND dated May 23, 2025 of the People's Committee of Nghe An province, the Museum's leadership structure includes a Director and no more than 2 Deputy Directors. Within a maximum period of 5 years from the date of the merger decision, there must be a plan to arrange and assign the number of deputies according to the current regulations and deputies can only be added when the number of deputies is lower than the regulations.

Regarding the staff and number of employees, at present, the Nghe An - Soviet Nghe Tinh Museum has a total of 37 officials receiving salaries from the state budget. The management, recruitment, use of officials and labor contracts are carried out in accordance with the provisions of law and current management division and decentralization.
