Construction area in Phu Xuan ward still faces problems |
The meeting was attended by the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Party Secretary, Chairman of the Ward People's Council Vo Le Nhat and Deputy Party Secretary, Chairman of the Ward People's Committee Nguyen Viet Bang. The ward leaders mobilized functional forces to coordinate closely, ensure security and order, and at the same time create necessary conditions for the construction unit to implement the project on schedule.
According to the Project Management Board, while the Kim Long Ward side of the bridge has been basically completed, the construction area in Phu Xuan Ward is still facing problems due to a household not complying, despite having previously received full compensation and support policies. Notably, the problem area is State-managed land, which does not affect the household's right to use residential land.
Phu Xuan Ward People's Committee said that the authorities have invited the household to work many times, explained in detail and proposed support plans, while still ensuring daily access for the family. Ward officials also went directly to the house to persuade, but the household still did not agree and refused to sign the working minutes.
Van Xuan bridge construction forces |
Faced with that situation, on September 10, the People's Committee of Phu Xuan Ward organized a campaign to protect the construction, focusing on building the access road to the bridge to ensure traffic connection. At the same time, the government continued to carry out site clearance work according to the planning, based on the policy approved by the city.
The obstruction of construction not only affects the overall progress of the project but also causes resentment among the people, impacts the urban landscape and the progress of disbursement of loans from ADB. Meanwhile, the majority of households in the area agree, strictly comply and create conditions for the project to be completed soon.
The Van Xuan Bridge project belongs to Package 37 of the Program for the Development of Type II Cities, with a length of nearly 40m, a bridge surface width of 6.5m, connecting Pham Thi Lien Street to Le Duan Street. When put into use, the bridge will contribute to the completion of traffic infrastructure, urban beautification, and at the same time meet the increasing travel needs of the people.
