The Australian Embassy in Vietnam announced on February 1 that the Australia Awards Scholarships (AAS) for 2025 intake has opened for applications. Details of the scholarship and eligibility criteria are available at: www.AustraliaAwardsVietnam.org. Applicants can apply online at https://oasis.dfat.gov.au. Results will be announced in August 2024.
The prestigious Australian Government AAS Scholarships are awarded to Vietnamese citizens to undertake Masters studies at Australian universities. Officials of central, provincial and district government agencies, employees of Vietnamese NGOs and companies, lecturers and researchers are all eligible to apply.
Australia Awards Scholarship recipients benefit from a world-class education in Australia, enhance their knowledge and skills, and build connections across a range of areas, including agriculture, forestry and fisheries, digital transformation, education, environment, climate change and energy, governance and economic development, gender equality, disability, health, regional stability and human rights.
Candidates are assessed on their academic and professional qualifications, leadership qualities, potential to contribute to addressing development challenges in Vietnam and promoting the relationship between Vietnam and Australia.
Applicants with disabilities and those from disadvantaged rural areas will be given special support to ensure equal access to scholarships.
The Australian Government Scholarship is one of the priorities in Australia's human resource development program for Vietnam.
“Australia is a favorite destination for international students because it is a safe place to live and study. We have an excellent education system, cultural diversity, a friendly environment and beautiful nature, so we have become an attractive choice for those looking for great learning experiences,” said Australian Ambassador to Vietnam Andrew Goledzinowski.
To date, the Australian Government has awarded more than 6,500 Australian Government Scholarships to Vietnamese citizens. Upon returning home, many alumni have been very successful in their careers and are now holding senior positions in Vietnam. The Australian alumni community has made significant contributions to Vietnam’s socio-economic development and to building a sustainable relationship between Vietnam and Australia./.
