The Manchester club are short of cash and are on the hunt for free agents to bolster their struggling attack under Ruben Amorim.

United have signed Matheus Cunha for £62.5m and are in talks to sign Bryan Mbeumo in a deal worth a similar fee.

However, the Red Devils' transfer chief is still on the hunt for a new striker, given the struggles Rasmus Hojlund endured last season.

Due to the tight shopping budget due to the PSR law, MU turned to the free player market, without transfer fees.

SunSport said the Manchester team has an opportunity with three experienced strikers in the Premier League: Jamie Vardy, Callum Wilson and Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

Amorim wants to bring Calvert-Lewin in as a backup striker, despite injuries causing the former Everton star to lose form in the past two seasons.

Jaime Vardy is 38 but still wants to play at the top level in the Premier League. The same is true of 33-year-old striker Callum Wilson.

However, MU's move to recruit one of the three names mentioned above will only become a reality at the end of the summer transfer window, if they cannot sign the top targets.
