FTSE Russell has announced changes to the composition of the FTSE Vietnam Index. These changes will be applied after the session on June 20 and officially take effect on Monday, June 23, 2025.
In this second quarter review, NVL shares of No Va Real Estate Investment Group Corporation surprised everyone when they were added to the component stocks of both FTSE Vietnam Index and FTSE Vietnam All-Share Index.

In addition to adding NVL shares, FTSE Vietnam Index also removed SIP shares of Saigon VRG Investment JSC from its portfolio.
Previously, most of the previous forecasts did not mention the scenario that NVL shares could return to the ETF portfolio in this review period.
SSI Research's forecast based on data updated on May 30 said that for the FTSE Vietnam Index, HCM stocks are estimated to be able to be added as they satisfy all conditions, and no stocks are excluded.
Regarding NVL shares , SSI said that NVL may return to this index basket in the future. Currently, NVL meets all criteria except for the event that the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange puts the stock on the warning list on September 23, 2024 and removes it from the warning list on April 3, 2025.
In the past, NVL shares were removed from the index in the second quarter of 2023 due to being placed on warning status on April 25, 2023, but were added back to the index in the fourth quarter of 2023, right after being removed from the warning status on November 3, 2023. According to FTSE Vietnam Index regulations, shares are only considered for inclusion in the index after 12 months from the time of removal from the warning status. Therefore, in SSI's opinion, since NVL has only been removed from the warning status within 2 months, the shares are not eligible to be added to the index this time.
Forecasts from other securities companies previously mentioned the possibility that SIP shares could be eliminated due to being close to the minimum trading value threshold as prescribed by the FTSE Vietnam Index, however, most believe that there will be no change in the FTSE's component portfolio in this review period.
Therefore, NVL's return to the portfolio is quite surprising. In the last 10 sessions, NVL shares recorded only 1 session of price decrease, 2 reference sessions and the remaining 7 sessions all increased points.

On the FTSE Vietnam All-Share Index side, along with NVL, BSR shares were also added. On the other hand, CMG, DGW and KDC were removed from the list.
On June 13 (Vietnam time), MarketVector Indexes will also announce the portfolio of MarketVector Vietnam Local Index - the reference index of VNM ETF fund.
