Integrating science into production not only helps SABECO optimize operational efficiency, but also lays the foundation for changes that can be replicated throughout the industry. It is the harmonious coordination between strategic thinking, technology and community responsibility that has helped SABECO become a model for domestic businesses on the greening journey.
Previously, in late April, SABECO released its first independent Sustainability Report, setting a series of ambitious targets: reducing greenhouse gas emissions intensity by 42% by 2030 compared to 2023 levels, using 50% renewable energy by 2030, and making all beverage packaging recyclable or reusable by 2040. These are pillars of its overall ESG strategy, and demonstrate strong alignment with the Government 's net zero emissions roadmap and circular economy orientation.

Green Power Together
This journey is materialized through clear commitments and substantial cooperation with the Packaging Recycling Alliance Vietnam (PRO Vietnam). Officially joining in July 2024, SABECO has played an active role in shaping the roadmap for post-consumer packaging recovery, as well as promoting the implementation of the extended producer responsibility (EPR) policy.
SABECO is affirming its pioneering role in the journey to a circular economy model through science and technology-based solutions. Integrating innovation into the production process not only helps optimize operational efficiency but also lays the foundation for an industry-wide transformation in the future.
The combination of strategic thinking, technology application and community responsibility has helped SABECO become a typical model for domestic enterprises in the green transformation process.
Believing that sustainability cannot be achieved alone, SABECO has worked with its partners to develop an industry roadmap for sustainable packaging and post-consumer recovery. Through awareness raising, infrastructure development and data transparency, the company has contributed to strengthening policy readiness and consensus across the industry.
By 2024, SABECO will have achieved 100% reuse or recycling for all primary and secondary packaging – from glass bottles, aluminum cans to plastic crates and cartons. Since 2019, the company has also reduced packaging weight by 15% through lightweight design without compromising product quality – demonstrating that the circular economy is not only a goal but also a practical business strategy.
In addition, SABECO and PRO Vietnam have worked with local authorities to strengthen provincial waste collection systems and promote public awareness. A culture of recycling is emerging from the commune and district levels and is gradually spreading to national policy forums.
Energy transition and digitalization for ESG
In addition to packaging recycling, SABECO’s clean energy transition journey is also accelerating. By 2024, the rate of renewable energy usage at the company’s factories will reach 40.54%, mainly from rooftop solar power systems and clean fuel replacement.
The entire operation is guided by a holistic ESG model, where every decision – from production, logistics to social programs – is based on the principles of transparency, responsibility and creating long-term value for the country.
SABECO is also expanding its collaboration with suppliers to increase the proportion of circular input materials and reduce upstream emissions. Eco-friendly packaging solutions and eco-design are being tested in new products.
In parallel, ESG data systems and digital monitoring tools are also heavily invested in - helping to monitor real-time emissions, energy consumption and recycling indicators. These data support accurate decision making and serve ESG reporting linked to future sustainable financial models.
Inspiration beyond the factory
SABECO’s sustainability strategy does not stop at internal activities. Through consumer-facing campaigns, the company is promoting behavioral change and awareness around recycling, responsible consumption and climate action. Communications activities during festive seasons, sporting events and retail all incorporate circular economy messages.
The company is also piloting packaging return models and smart recycling systems in urban areas – working with local authorities and PRO Vietnam to identify models that can be replicated and meet EPR policy requirements.
Beyond brewing beer, SABECO is also contributing to community capacity building, promoting green innovation and spreading national pride. From solar-powered public lighting initiatives to sports and environmental communication projects across 36 provinces, these impacts are helping to shape Vietnam’s green growth story.
