In August 2025, Ho Chi Minh City Open University welcomed 19 international students to officially enroll at the school.

In the admission method based on graduation exam scores, psychology unexpectedly "surpassed" law, economic law, and marketing to become the major with the highest standard score of 24 points.

In 2024, the two majors of law and economic law had the highest benchmark score of 24.75 points, but by 2025 it would decrease slightly to 23.2 and 23.25 points.

This year, many majors have admission scores that far exceed the previously announced minimum scores of 15 and 16 points. Of the 51 majors that announced admission scores, more than 20 majors have admission scores above 20 points and 4 majors have admission scores above 23 points.
