On May 30, Allkpop reported that a male singer temporarily called "A" (name withheld) - who used to be part of a 6-member boy band - went to court for sexually assaulting a member of the same group. The Seoul Central District Court - South Korea issued a verdict, sentencing the 25-year-old singer to 2.5 years in prison, suspended, for the crimes of sexual assault and harassment.
If during the period of probation, "A" violates the law, he will be sentenced to 3 years in prison. In addition, "A" will be required to complete an 80-hour sexual violence treatment program.
"A" received a suspended sentence for his actions.
"A" was previously accused of raping a fellow group member between 2017 and 2021. The incident occurred in the dormitory and practice room. "A" was subsequently forced to leave the group and was prosecuted. "A" admitted to sexual harassment but denied allegations of sexual assault or rape.

Also on May 30, reality TV star Yang Ho-seok was sentenced to 10 months in prison for sexual assault. He was also ordered to complete a 40-hour sex addiction treatment program.
