National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man affirmed that the personnel work at the session was carried out strictly in accordance with Party regulations and State laws, achieving high consensus and unanimity among National Assembly deputies.
On the afternoon of August 26, after a day of serious, democratic and highly responsible work, the 8th Extraordinary Session, 15th National Assembly has completed the program content.
Reviewing the important results of the session, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man said that the National Assembly dismissed Mr. Nguyen Hoa Binh from the position of Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court and Mr. Le Minh Tri from the position of Chief Prosecutor of the Supreme People's Procuracy.
At the same time, Mr. Le Minh Tri was elected as Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court and Mr. Nguyen Huy Tien as Chief Prosecutor of the Supreme People's Procuracy at the proposal of the President.
The National Assembly also passed a Resolution on adding the number of Deputy Prime Ministers so that the Government of the 15th National Assembly term has 5 Deputy Prime Ministers.
Accordingly, at the session, the National Assembly passed resolutions approving the Prime Minister's proposals on the appointment of Deputy Prime Ministers for the 2021-2026 term for Mr. Nguyen Hoa Binh, Mr. Ho Duc Phoc and Mr. Bui Thanh Son; the appointment of Minister of Natural Resources and Environment for Mr. Do Duc Duy and Minister of Justice for Mr. Nguyen Hai Ninh.
The National Assembly also approved the Prime Minister's proposal to relieve Mr. Tran Luu Quang from the position of Deputy Prime Minister because he was mobilized, assigned, and appointed by the Politburo to hold the position of Head of the Central Economic Commission; approved the Prime Minister's proposal to relieve Mr. Le Minh Khai from the position of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Dang Quoc Khanh from his retirement; and dismissed Mr. Le Thanh Van from the position of National Assembly delegate of the 15th tenure.
The National Assembly Chairman stated that the National Assembly highly appreciated the close, timely and effective coordination of the Government, the Prime Minister, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the Supreme People's Court, the Supreme People's Procuracy, the National Assembly agencies and relevant agencies and organizations; thanked the National Assembly deputies for upholding the spirit of responsibility, democratically discussing and resolving personnel work with high consensus and unity.
The National Assembly Chairman requested relevant agencies and National Assembly deputies to continue researching, proactively and urgently preparing the contents to be submitted to the National Assembly for consideration and approval at the upcoming 8th Session.
