Inside the high quality train Saigon - Da Nang

Train SE 21/211 is renovated from the best carriages, upgraded with many equipment, utilities, free wifi, running on the Saigon - Da Nang route.

On April 29, at Saigon station, about 300 passengers took the high-quality train SE21/22 running on the Saigon - Da Nang route, departing at 11am, on the third day of operation. This is the first high-quality train put into operation on the above route, meeting the increasing demand of passengers.

Mr. Hoang Gia Khanh, General Director of Vietnam Railway Corporation, said that the train was upgraded and renovated from the best current carriages. On the outside, the train was newly painted with the main colors of white, gray and blue.

Inside, the train is designed to be more airy than traditional trains. The sleeping cars are about 5 square meters wide, serving 4 passengers, equipped with reading lights, charging ports and new mattresses, blankets, sheets, pillows, curtains, and more eye-catching colors. The air conditioning system has been replaced, with adjustable wind direction and temperature. The train has wifi, free to use.

The train also has a carriage with three of the best cabins, with beds that can be lowered into sofas, suitable for passengers who want privacy. "In over 30 years in the railway industry, this is the most comfortable and modern train I have served," said Mr. Than Duc Khai, a train employee.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong bought a high-quality ticket to Quang Nam for the holiday. "I often take a sleeper train to my hometown, but this time the experience was completely different. The room was airy, spacious, and the interior was much newer," said the 70-year-old woman.

The whole family of Pham Thi Yen, 30 years old, bought a sleeper ticket for 780,000 VND per person, to Ninh Thuan . "The price is the same as before, but everything looks much cleaner and newer. What I like most is that I can adjust the air conditioning myself and there is wifi," said Ms. Yen.

In the seating area, there is a car on the train designed with 180-degree rotating seats, allowing passengers to adjust their seating direction according to their needs, reducing motion sickness caused by sitting in the opposite direction while traveling.

The dining car is located in the middle of the train, helping passengers at both ends to reduce travel time. The dining tables are spacious, decorated in bright colors, serving up to 50 guests at a time. The car serves about 30 dishes, with Vietnamese or European meals.

The sink and toilet areas on the train have been renovated and decorated with flowers and ornamental plants to create a clean feeling for passengers.

This is also the first train to be upgraded by the railway industry, with the toilets expanded to 1.4 meters, instead of just one meter as usual. The sinks are also newly installed with ceramic, and a modern exhaust fan and waste treatment system is installed... to improve service quality.

Both ends of the train are equipped with LED screens with entertainment features, integrating railway information...

The doors on the train cars are equipped with automatic fixing devices to reduce vibration sound during train operation.

Currently, train SE21/22 still applies the normal fare. In which, passengers traveling the entire route during the day usually have the price of 544,000-1,900,000 VND, on holidays 900,000-2,900,000 VND, depending on the seat type.

Along with innovating equipment and service quality on trains, the railway industry is investing in renovating and refurbishing waiting rooms, improving the quality of customer service at Saigon, Da Nang, Nha Trang stations...

Previously, in October 2023, the upgraded SE19/20 train with similar quality was put into operation on the Hanoi - Da Nang route, with one trip per day.
