Inside Vietnam's largest speedboat from Vung Tau to Con Dao

TPO - On March 8, in Vung Tau City, the largest super ship in Vietnam, named Thang Long, officially held its opening ceremony and prepared for its first trip from Vung Tau City to Con Dao. Hundreds of people witnessed the first images of this largest super ship in Vietnam.

Mr. Vu Van Khuong, General Director of Phu Quoc Express High-speed Boat Company, said that Phu Quoc Express has cooperated with Z189 factory (Ministry of National Defense) to build and put into operation the 4th generation high-speed boat, the first of which is the super ship Thang Long.

This is a ship that is considered the most luxurious and modern according to European standards with a capacity of up to 1017 passengers.

The ship is completely newly designed and built, all equipment is imported from countries with the most advanced technology and is certified by foreign inspection organizations and approved by Vietnam's inspection agency before being installed on the ship.

Super ship Thang Long at Cau Da port (Vung Tau city)

“Super Ship Thang Long” has the largest aluminum alloy hull in Southeast Asia, built by the most skilled Vietnamese craftsmen with a length of 77.6m; has 3 main engines with a capacity of nearly 12,000 horsepower, the maximum speed can reach up to 35 nautical miles/hour, which will dramatically shorten the time for passengers to travel from Vung Tau City to Con Dao and vice versa to just over 3 hours.

“With a special design specifically for the route from Vung Tau City and Ho Chi Minh City to Con Dao, the super ship Thang Long can operate in harsh weather conditions such as level 8 gusts, in tropical depressions, while still having high stability and minimizing shaking. In particular, the ship can operate with the highest level of safety according to the standards of international maritime organizations, creating a comfortable and safe feeling for the health of passengers on the voyages,” said Mr. Vu Van Khuong.

The first passengers to visit the Thang Long super ship

At 7:30 a.m. on March 9, the Thang Long super ship will have its first departure from Vung Tau City to Con Dao. Initially, each week the Thang Long super ship will have 3 trips from Vung Tau to Con Dao and vice versa. The trip from Vung Tau to Con Dao will be on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. The return trip will be on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.

Ticket prices for passengers on the Thang Long ship are 790,000 - 950,000 VND/trip for general tickets, 1.2 million VND/trip for high-quality service tickets. Tickets for children, the disabled and the elderly range from 550,000 - 760,000 VND/trip. The above ticket prices do not include the fee for passengers using the Con Dao passenger port.
