The program is a practical and meaningful activity to welcome Party Congresses at all levels; celebrate the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025), and is part of a series of activities to celebrate the 78th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2025).
At the program, the medical team of Military Hospital 175 coordinated with other units to examine and screen nearly 200 subjects who are relatives of policy families, officers, soldiers, workers, and people in Tay Ninh province. After examination, 49 cases were indicated for surgery. The surgeries used modern techniques, soft lenses, and minimal invasion, helping patients to remove the bandages after a few hours of surgery. To effectively implement the program, Military Hospital 175 mobilized a team of highly qualified doctors and medical staff from the Ophthalmology Department and other specialties to participate.
Colonel, PhD, Meritorious Doctor Nguyen Viet Cuong, Deputy Director of Military Hospital 175, said that the program "Brightening Vietnamese Eyes" is a charity surgery project initiated by the hospital, helping people in difficult circumstances restore their vision, improve their quality of life and express gratitude to relatives of policy families in revolutionary homelands. Through the program, Military Hospital 175 promotes propaganda activities for medical staff to raise awareness of self-reliance, self-reliance, aspiration to contribute to the development of the hospital and care for the community; at the same time, mobilize social resources to accompany, demonstrate solidarity between units to spread the spirit of "mutual love".

On behalf of the locality, Comrade Pham Hung Thai, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Tay Ninh Province, respectfully thanked the humanitarian gesture of Military Hospital 175 and its accompanying units in supporting the locality in caring for people in difficult circumstances who do not have the conditions to examine and treat eye diseases. The effectiveness of this meaningful activity has contributed to strengthening and fostering the solidarity between the military and the people, working with the locality to do a good job in policy work and taking care of social security.
Having eye surgery at the program, Ms. Le Kim Tien (born in 1954, Ninh Thanh commune, Tay Ninh city) emotionally shared: "More than 15 years ago, I had a very severe brain hemorrhage, had to stay in the hospital for nearly 2 months and thought I would not survive. It was the doctors of Military Hospital 175 who saved my life and took good care of me. Today, when I heard that the hospital came to Tay Ninh to perform free eye surgery, I was extremely happy. This is a fate, a great blessing not only for me but also for the people here. My family is truly grateful to the doctors, the soldiers in white coats, who are both skilled and compassionate."
On this occasion, Military Hospital 175 and its partners such as: Truong Tuoi Group Joint Stock Company, Vietnam Veterans Business Association, Hong Son International Eye Hospital, CT Group Corporation, ACT Telecommunications Joint Stock Company, Tay Ninh General Hospital, Division 5 (Military Region 7) presented meaningful gifts to the surgical cases (each gift worth 1 million VND). The total cost of the program is about 400 million VND.
