Reportedly, the fisherman involved in the accident is Pham Van Minh (born in 1985, from Binh Minh commune, Thanh Binh district, Quang Nam province), a crew member on the fishing vessel QN 95489 TS, owned by Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Thanh.
Earlier, while working on the ship, Mr. Pham Van Minh slipped and fell, hitting his right knee on the wooden floor, causing sharp pain and making it impossible for him to stand up. He received initial first aid and was taken to the island.

After examination and X-ray imaging, the doctor determined: A fractured right patella, with a large displaced fragment of 3cm, and significant hemothorax in the knee joint. The prognosis was serious, requiring early surgery. The infirmary performed surgery, drained the fluid, fixed the fracture with a plaster cast, and continued monitoring and treatment at the island infirmary.
From the beginning of 2025 until now, the medical force on Sinh Ton Island has provided emergency care and treatment to 12 fishermen in distress at sea, including 3 serious cases that required transfer to higher-level hospitals.
Military medical services on the island not only contribute to protecting the health and lives of fishermen, but also demonstrate the spirit of "the military and the people united in purpose," contributing to maintaining sovereignty and peace at sea.
