Mystery of 1,000-year-old warrior statue wearing snake helmet with open mouth threatening

The statue, measuring 33 cm high and 28 cm wide, appears to depict a warrior wearing a feathered serpent helmet with its mouth open named Kukulcán (Kukulcán was an important mascot in ancient Mesoamerica). Photo: @INAH.

Diego Prieto Hernández, an expert from Mexico's National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH), described the statue as a "very interesting discovery" that could have been used to participate in religious rituals in the Maya culture.
