At the space "People's Public Security - 80 years for National Security, for People's Happiness", many artifacts associated with life, the fight against crime and the sacrifices of Police martyrs were carefully brought back to be placed in the exhibit area.

80 years of history on costumes

Within the framework of the exhibition of 80 years of national achievements, the People's Public Security Force deployed two indoor and outdoor display areas with the theme "People's Public Security - 80 years for National Security, for the happiness of the people". In the exhibition space of the People's Public Security Force, the display of the People's Public Security uniforms through the periods, although simple, touched the emotions of the viewers. Along with the history of building, fighting and growing of the People's Public Security Force, the People's Public Security uniform has had many developments, meeting the requirements of tasks through each revolutionary period. In this field, there is an important contribution of the People's Public Security Logistics - Technical force.

In the early days of protecting the revolutionary government, the People's Public Security Forces used shorts, short-sleeved shirts, and rubber sandals. By 1962, along with the promulgation of a decree regulating the ranks, badges, and numbers of the People's Public Security Forces, the People's Public Security Forces' uniforms were basically completed. By 1988, the Council of Ministers issued a decree regulating the flags, security badges, ranks, badges, and uniforms of the People's Public Security Forces.

During the years 1989, 1991, 1995, 1998, 2004, 2005... the Public Security Force has changed its uniform many times. Through the steps of construction and development, along with the efforts and struggles of the Logistics - Technical force, the Public Security uniform has been gradually researched, improved, and enhanced in quality, both meeting the requirements of work and combat tasks, while ensuring unity and aesthetics. The Public Security uniform through the periods has always been associated with the achievements, feats, and sacrifices of generations of Public Security officers and soldiers on the front line of protecting security and order, and is a symbol of will, strength, and spirit of wholeheartedly serving the Fatherland and the People, contributing to building the image of a disciplined, elite, and modern Public Security Force.

Artifacts associated with the sacrifice of martyrs of the People's Public Security Forces

Major Pham Nam Phong, an officer of the CAND Museum, said that among the exhibits on display at the exhibition, there will be some uniforms worn by police martyrs who died while on duty. That is the police uniform of martyr, Major Nguyen Dang Khai (1996-2025), an officer of the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department, Quang Ninh Provincial Police.

Previously, Quang Ninh Provincial Police discovered a large-scale drug trafficking and transportation ring led by Nguyen Huu Dang, born in 1967 (residing in Hung Thang Ward, Ha Long City (old)) and established a special project to fight and destroy it. On the evening of April 17, 2025, during the pursuit, the subjects suddenly fought back fiercely with AK guns, Major Nguyen Dang Khai was shot; although he was quickly taken to the emergency room by his teammates, due to the severity of his injuries, he heroically sacrificed himself while on duty.

Or the uniform of martyr Tran Nguyen Hien, a police officer of Binh Thanh commune, Lap Vo district (formerly) of Dong Thap province, who heroically sacrificed himself on July 2, 2010 while on patrol duty at the Vam Cong ferry terminal. In 2010, the security and order situation in Binh Thanh commune was complicated, especially in the Vam Cong ferry terminal area. Faced with this situation, Binh Thanh commune police decided to develop a plan to restore order.

At 3:00 a.m. on July 2, 2010, while on patrol at the ferry terminal, Comrade Hien discovered Nguyen Van Nam climbing into the cabin of a passenger car that had stopped to buy ferry tickets to steal property. He rushed forward to catch him red-handed. The subject resisted and escaped. Despite the danger, he chased after the subject, and at that moment a truck came and hit him. Despite the dedicated treatment of doctors and nurses, Comrade Hien died due to his severe injuries.

The exhibition also displays the traffic police uniform of martyr Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Xuan Hao, traffic police of Duc Hoa district, Long An province (old) who sacrificed his life while on duty to prevent and arrest drug criminals. On the afternoon of April 21, 2023, the TT Traffic Police Team - Duc Hoa District Police coordinated with special task forces to intercept a pickup truck transporting drugs on Provincial Road 824, through Hamlet Moi 2, My Hanh Nam Commune, Duc Hoa District. At this time, the driver of the pickup truck did not listen to the command and recklessly crashed straight into the traffic police team, seriously injuring 2 residents and Lieutenant Colonel Hao. After the collision, the pickup truck overturned, and 2 people in the pickup truck barricaded themselves inside. Lieutenant Colonel Hao was taken to the hospital for emergency treatment but did not survive...

The sacrifice of the comrades is a great loss to their families and the People's Public Security force. It continues to enhance the glorious heroic tradition of the People's Public Security force and will forever be a sacred flame that lights up the will and belief of the current and future generations of Public Security in carrying out the important responsibilities assigned by the Party, State and People.

In particular, the police cap of comrade Nguyen Van Dai, a traffic police officer who died while protecting the Tran Xa ferry terminal (formerly Quang Binh province) in 1968, is a deeply moving image. When mentioning the General Offensive and Uprising of the Spring of Mau Than 1968, people often think of Hue, Saigon and other major cities in the South, shaken by the sudden and fierce attacks of the liberation army, which terrified the enemy. But on the sunny and windy Central strip of land, Quang Binh also suffered fierce bombardments from the US Air Force and 7th Fleet from the beginning of 1968, as a "sharing of fire" with the battlefields in the South. And it was on those white sands that the flower of victory bloomed from the bright red blood of the heroic martyrs.

The police hat, with the top nearly half destroyed and still bearing traces of fire and smoke, is a testament to the ferocity of war. Looking at the artifact, we can feel the great sacrifice of the heroic martyrs, including the officers and soldiers of the People's Public Security - those who used their blood and bones to build the independence and freedom of the nation. So that today, we can understand more fully the value of peace, love and cherish the past more and foster more motivation for each soldier of the People's Public Security to have a steadfast character and a steadfast will to fight...
