A 33-year-old woman in Bao Loc City was fined 2.5 million VND for verbally abusing and insulting a sanitation worker and her family.
On the afternoon of June 21st, a woman residing in Loc Phat ward was fined administratively by the Bao Loc City Police for the following offense: Using offensive, insulting, or defamatory language to tarnish the honor and dignity of others. According to Clause 3, Article 7 of Decree 144.
In addition, the police also ordered this person to publicly apologize to the female sanitation worker who is an employee of Bao Loc Urban Construction Joint Stock Company.
Previously, in a nearly 4-minute video that went viral online, a female sanitation worker was seen cleaning up trash in front of a woman's house in Loc Phat ward. The homeowner, claiming the worker couldn't carry the trash can to empty it (because it was too big), verbally abused and insulted her. The sanitation worker responded calmly amidst the incessant verbal abuse.
The video has attracted millions of views, with most comments expressing outrage at the homeowner's behavior. They argue that cleaning jobs are essential to society and that those who work in this field deserve appreciation, not humiliation.
