An Giang Secretary inspects key projects serving APEC 2027

(Chinhphu.vn) - On July 31, Secretary of An Giang Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Tien Hai inspected and surveyed key projects in Phu Quoc special economic zone and projects serving the APEC 2027 Conference.

Secretary of An Giang Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Tien Hai inspected and surveyed projects, works, and locations in the Duong Dong River area, Cua Can Lake, Duong Dong 2 Lake, Phu Quoc International Airport, Bai Dat Do mixed urban area, APEC Conference Center, Ham Ninh resettlement area, Suoi Lon Lake resettlement area... thereby assessing the actual implementation progress, promptly removing difficulties and obstacles, ensuring that the projects are completed on schedule, effectively serving the APEC Conference 2027.

During the inspection and survey of the projects, Mr. Nguyen Tien Hai requested the People's Committee of An Giang province to closely inspect the land recovery process of people related to the Phu Quoc International Airport expansion investment project, ensuring the land handover to investors on schedule and in accordance with the law.

Regarding projects serving the APEC 2027 Conference, the Secretary of the An Giang Provincial Party Committee requested to urgently review and adjust local planning to ensure consistency and feasibility in implementation. Particularly for the Ham Ninh resettlement project, it is necessary to promptly inventory people's assets to pay compensation in a timely manner, while taking advantage of site clearance to create conditions for quick project implementation.

The Secretary of the An Giang Provincial Party Committee also noted that the selection of resettlement recipients must be the right people, the right subjects, and in accordance with legal regulations. Particularly for the Ho Suoi Lon resettlement area, it is necessary to recalculate the reasonable construction location, synchronizing infrastructure items such as roads, kindergarten areas, public utilities, etc. to create conditions for people to soon stabilize their lives.

For the Cua Can lake project, it is necessary to carefully review the current status of forest land in Phu Quoc National Park related to the project and the situation of affected households to promptly have appropriate solutions. The Provincial People's Committee is assigned to closely monitor the construction progress, report periodically every week, and check the quality of water sources during the project construction process.

Mr. Nguyen Tien Hai proposed to speed up the progress of resettlement areas, especially the resettlement project of Cua Can commune (old) and related areas to stabilize the lives of affected people, creating favorable conditions for the synchronous implementation of key infrastructure projects serving the APEC 2027 Conference.

The Secretary of the An Giang Provincial Party Committee also called on investors to exploit the potential of solar power on lakes, contributing to the development of clean energy, improving the efficiency of resource use and sustainable development for Phu Quoc special economic zone in the coming time.
