BHG - On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), on the morning of April 24, the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Fatherland Front Committee of the province organized a meeting with war veterans and former youth volunteers who participated in the resistance war against the US to save the country. Attending were comrades: Hau A Lenh, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Phan Huy Ngoc, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Tran Manh Loi, member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission; Hoang Dinh Phoi, member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Internal Affairs Commission; leaders of the Provincial Party Committee's Party building committees, provincial departments and branches, and 120 war veterans and former youth volunteers representing more than 3,000 war veterans, former youth volunteers, and former frontline laborers in the province who participated in the resistance war against the US to save the country.

The great victory in the spring of 1975 has great historical significance, a heroic page in the great history of building and defending the country of our people. We have completed the glorious historical mission of completely liberating the South, unifying the country, bringing our country into a new era - the era of independence, unity and together building a socialist Vietnam - a rich people, a strong country, a democratic, equitable and civilized society. The Political Report presented by General Secretary Le Duan at the 4th National Congress of the Party on February 14, 1976 affirmed: "Times will pass, but the victory of our people in the resistance war against the US to save the country will forever be recorded in our nation's history as one of the most brilliant pages, a shining symbol of the complete victory of revolutionary heroism and human intelligence, and will go down in world history as a great feat of the 20th century, an event of great international importance and profound contemporary significance." 50 years have passed, but the great victory in the spring of 1975, culminating in the historic Ho Chi Minh campaign, will forever be the most brilliant page in the history of our Vietnamese people.

At the meeting, delegates watched a documentary film about the resistance war against the US to save the country and the great victory of our nation in the spring of 1975; exchanged historical witnesses with war veterans who participated in the resistance war against the US and representatives of the young generation of the province, listened to the war veterans talk about their memories of participating in the Ho Chi Minh campaign and their emotions on the day of liberating the South and reunifying the country.

Speaking at the meeting, Provincial Party Secretary Hau A Lenh acknowledged and highly appreciated the War Veterans Association and the Veterans Youth Volunteers Association at all levels in the province over the years for always paying attention to leading and guiding members to maintain and promote the revolutionary flame, promote the qualities of "Uncle Ho's soldiers", the vanguard spirit of youth during wartime and the tradition of steadfastness, indomitability, and loyalty to the Party and the Fatherland; doing a very good job of fostering revolutionary ideals, educating the tradition of patriotism for the younger generation, organizing many profound gratitude activities, and always paying attention and taking practical care of the material and spiritual life of members and comrades, not letting anyone be forgotten or left behind. He expressed his deep gratitude and respect for the great, lasting contributions and noble sacrifices of the veteran comrades and former youth volunteers of Ha Giang province, who devoted a lot of their intelligence, strength, blood and part of their youth to the resistance war against the US to save the country and liberate the nation.

Provincial Party Secretary Hau A Lenh believes and hopes that all levels of the association will continue to build a strong political, ideological and organizational foundation; thoroughly grasp and effectively implement the Party's directives and resolutions, especially the Resolution on the Strategy for National Defense in the new situation; focus on mobilizing and gathering members, promoting the tradition of solidarity, actively and effectively participating in the cause of innovation, construction and defense of the Fatherland. At the same time, closely coordinate with the Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations, mass organizations in the work of building a strong grassroots political system; effectively perform the function of social supervision and criticism. Continue to promote the heroic tradition and good nature of "Uncle Ho's soldiers" and the Youth Volunteer Force, uphold the spirit of self-reliance, solidarity tradition, effectively carry out the movement "Comradely love" and other meaningful movements and activities, continue to actively participate in building and protecting the Party, protecting the government, protecting the socialist regime, making an important contribution to educating the tradition and revolutionary heroism for the younger generation; forever be shining examples for generations of younger generations to follow.

Provincial Party Secretary Hau A Lenh emphasized: In 2025, our Party and State will resolutely and urgently direct the implementation of merging provincial-level administrative units, not organizing district-level administrative units, merging commune-level units and building a 2-level local government organization model. At the same time, arrange socio-political organizations and mass organizations assigned by the Party and State into the Vietnam Fatherland Front... to ensure streamlining and efficiency; no duplication or overlap in functions and tasks; no administrativeization of activities, activities will be strongly oriented towards the grassroots, closely following the locality, taking care of the legitimate and legal rights and interests of the people and union members. The Provincial Party Secretary hopes that war veterans and former Youth Volunteers will continue to maintain their political will, promote their role as the nucleus of gathering solidarity at the grassroots level, be a shining example, demonstrating consensus and unity with the Party's policies; Together, we must be united and determined in implementation, contributing to building a strong political system from the grassroots.

Comrade Hau A Lenh suggested that 2025 is the year of Party Congresses at all levels and towards the 14th National Congress of the Party with many new contents, of historical significance and importance to bring our country firmly into the era of national rise - the era of development, wealth and prosperity; in the coming time, the tasks for the Association of War Veterans and the Association of Former Youth Volunteers at all levels are also very heavy, requiring us to have innovation in thinking, thinking and working methods to meet the revolutionary tasks set.
