The delegation visited Kien Nga Agricultural and Medicinal Plants Production Cooperative (Phuoc Hiep Commune). Ms. Nguyen Thi Nga - Director of the Cooperative said that the unit specializes in purchasing agricultural products and medicinal plants from local people, then processing them into commercial products such as ginseng soaked in honey, ginseng wine, dried ginseng extract, dried wild bitter melon... and cereals to supply markets in major cities such as Hanoi , Hai Phong, Ho Chi Minh City, Vung Tau...

Every year, Kien Nga Agricultural and Medicinal Products Production Cooperative sells about 20,000 boxes of various products to the market, bringing in nearly 3 billion VND in revenue, creating jobs for nearly 20 regular and seasonal workers in the locality.

"Previously, we only purchased fresh agricultural products from people, dried them, and sold them raw at low prices. We established the cooperative with the desire to produce commercial products and increase the value of local agricultural products and medicinal herbs.

The cooperative wants to expand its production scale, rent land to open a factory and build a sustainable raw material area to develop the market. In the coming time, it will approach loan sources and propose to rent land, hoping that authorities at all levels will create favorable conditions," said Ms. Nga.

"The raw material area needs attention. Phuoc Son district leaders should base on the planning announced by the province to develop a plan for their locality. The province is developing a project to establish a medicinal plant industry center, in which Ngoc Linh ginseng is the main plant along with other medicinal plants. The mechanism and policies for the development of medicinal plants will be more favorable.

Therefore, Phuoc Son needs to focus on considering the planning of its raw material areas and what types of plants to match with the provincial planning, ensuring the supply of raw materials for entities and businesses to invest in production development" - Provincial Party Secretary Luong Nguyen Minh Triet noted.
