BIDV contributes to building a green transformation roadmap.

The workshop brought together leading experts from the World Bank Vietnam, Ernst & Young Vietnam, BIDV , and FPT, and attracted more than 100 pioneering businesses in ESG transformation.

The workshop serves as a forum connecting in-depth knowledge with practical action, where businesses can not only update themselves on global trends in green transformation and international ESG reporting standards, but also learn from experiences and strategies to turn ESG into a competitive advantage in the integration process.

The workshop further affirmed BIDV's pioneering role in supporting the sustainable development strategies of the business community. In the context of ESG (Environmental, Sustainable, and Sustainable) standards becoming increasingly prevalent globally, BIDV identifies green finance as a strategic tool to help businesses optimize costs and increase access to preferential long-term capital. BIDV has issued sustainable finance frameworks according to international standards and received high ratings from Moody's (such as the sustainable loan framework, green bond framework, sustainable bond framework), and developed and expanded the provision of green finance products (including green loans, sustainable linked loans, green bonds, sustainable bonds, green deposits, etc.).

Speaking at the workshop, Mr. Tran Long, Deputy General Director of BIDV, emphasized: "Through this workshop, we provide additional information, perspectives from experts, and practical experience on financial and technological solutions that meet the requirements of the Government , as well as helping businesses build a suitable green transformation roadmap, contributing to enhancing competitiveness."

FPT also brought to the workshop VertZéro, a technology platform supporting the inventory, measurement, and reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, aiming to build a reporting system that meets international standards such as PCAF (Partnership for Carbon Accounting Financials) - a standard widely adopted by global financial institutions.

Accordingly, the key to meeting PCAF requirements is not only fully defining the scope of emissions, but also having the capacity for data governance to ensure data transparency, consistency, and verifiability. This requires businesses to build a robust data infrastructure, integrate information between internal units, and standardize data collection, processing, and storage.

In addition, FPT also provides specific recommendations during the data building and organization process to best prepare for accessing green funding from domestic and international organizations. Notably, the VertZéro solution has been jointly offered by FPT and BIDV (free for a limited time, with discounts of up to 25% after the free period) to all BIDV corporate customers.

With an open and enthusiastic spirit, the workshop radiated positive energy and a desire for transformation. The in-depth discussion provided a clear perspective on Vietnam's position in the greening journey, opportunities for issuing ESG bonds, and the supportive role of BIDV. Practical insights from Gemadept and the World Bank's business support programs further motivated the business community to confidently break through.

The success of the conference also demonstrates BIDV's strong commitment to pursuing its "Green Banking" strategy, accompanying the Government and businesses on their journey towards sustainable transformation.
