Accordingly, after logging into VNeID, customers only need to select “Social Security”, then select “Social Security Account”, enter the passcode, select the bank and fill in the account number. Once completed, the system will automatically send an approval request so that the money can be transferred directly to the account.

For people who do not have a bank account, they can download the banking application on Google Play or App Store to open an online account, then return to VNeID to complete the registration.

Banks note that the linked account must be a VND account, with the same owner name, active and unrestricted. The response time for linking requests is usually from 20 seconds to 1 minute. Users can check in the “Registration History” section on the application. Rejection may be due to incorrect account number entry, the account is no longer valid or the personal information on VNeID does not match the bank data.

Integrating bank accounts on VNeID not only helps simplify social security payment procedures but also creates a platform to promote safe and official public service payments, minimizing the risk of receiving cash.

Previously, the Ministry of Public Security was assigned to preside over and coordinate with commercial banks to deploy solutions to create social security accounts for people, aiming to have 100% of people have accounts by 2025. Review and synchronize data on the VNeID application and link with bank accounts to ensure transparency in payments, while preventing fraud and scams in the process of receiving social security payments.
