
The ceremony to announce the cooperation agreement and launch the Vietnam-Cuba Biotechnology Network marked a step forward in scientific and technological cooperation between the two countries, which took place on August 28 in Hanoi.
The network aims to connect research resources, training, technology transfer, production and commercialization of biotechnology products and typical research projects of Cuba as well as develop indigenous resources of Vietnam. Thereby, not only opening a new direction for the Vietnamese biotechnology industry, but also creating a foundation to bring Cuba's advanced scientific achievements to serve the practical development of healthcare, agriculture and people's lives.
The launching ceremony of the Vietnam – Cuba Biotechnology Network is expected to open a new cooperation program in the field of biotechnology, contributing to bringing scientific achievements to practically serve socio-economic development and public health care in both Vietnam and Cuba, while further tightening the friendship between the two brotherly nations.

Dr. Nguyen Van Ngoc, Vice Rector of Dalat University, said that the University and the Green Economy Institute have agreed to sign a Memorandum of Understanding with the following cooperation contents: Coordinating research, development and receiving transfer of biotechnology in the fields of biotechnology, bioindustry and biomedicine. Cooperating in organizing training programs and specialized seminars to improve qualifications and develop high-quality human resources. Coordinating in organizing academic exchange programs, sharing knowledge and experience, as well as inviting domestic and foreign experts to participate in teaching and research at Dalat University. Other cooperation and support in accordance with the functions, tasks, scope of activities and interests of the parties that are not contrary to the provisions of Vietnamese law.
This will be a practical step to realize bilateral cooperation, bringing Cuban biotechnology to serve public health and sustainable agricultural development in Vietnam.
