Research on housing design to prevent storms and floods

The Ministry of Construction has just issued Official Dispatch No. 14454/BXD-VT&ATGT dated December 2, 2025, directing agencies and units to implement the Prime Minister's telegram on launching and implementing the "Quang Trung Campaign" to rapidly rebuild and repair houses for families whose houses were damaged by recent natural disasters in the Central provinces.

In particular, the Ministry of Construction assigned the Department of Housing and Real Estate Market Management to preside over and coordinate with relevant units to urgently research and advise the leaders of the Ministry of Construction to direct the Department of Construction of localities and research agencies, and advise the Provincial People's Committee to propose a number of model house designs (model house designs against storms, floods, and inundations) according to the customs, practices, and cultural traditions of the indigenous people, so that people can proactively choose a model that is suitable for the ability to mobilize resources and prevent natural disasters.

Along with the above direction, the Ministry of Construction also sent the typical design documents of storm and flood resistant houses to the People's Committees and Departments of Construction of provinces and cities such as Ha Tinh, Quang Tri, Hue, Da Nang, Quang Ngai, Gia Lai, Dak Lak, Khanh Hoa, Lam Dong and other localities in need to study, refer to, and propose some house designs for people to proactively choose.

The Ministry of Construction provides design drawings of 4 low-cost house models (newly built houses or houses using old foundations and walls and adding flood-prevention floors) that have been designed to suit the area of ​​Da Nang city so that poor households and households with difficult economic circumstances can choose models to start construction soon.
