Turning prosthetic legs into loving 'wings' of a Quang Ninh girl

Pham Thien Trang was born as a normal child like many of her peers. At the age of 25, Thien Trang had a stable job and cherished the plan to go to university to improve her qualifications and further her dream. However, the incident that happened in 2017 completely changed Thien Trang's life. The accident forced her to face the possibility of amputating her entire right leg to save her life. In pain both physically and mentally, Trang collapsed many times and lost faith in life.

After 2 surgeries to amputate her right leg, 4 hospitalizations and 1 rehabilitation treatment at Quang Ninh General Hospital, Thien Trang spent more than 6 months to end that painful process. But that amount of time is still not enough compared to the loss that the young girl had to endure, there were times when Trang wanted to end her life.

Seeing her mother struggling every day to take care of her, Thien Trang was determined not to let herself become a burden. From being self-conscious and sad, the 9X girl learned to accept her life without a body part, and considered it a challenge to become stronger. Feeling sorry for her mother's hardships and not wanting to become a burden to her family, Thien Trang learned a trade, then earned money, and supported herself.

Up to now, Thien Trang still has a stable job at the Mechanical - Installation - Construction workshop of the Environment Company - TKV to have a monthly income and take care of her own life.

Not only taking care of herself and finding a job to support herself, Pham Thien Trang is also a girl full of compassion and responsibility to the community. From the incidents that happened, Thien Trang has gained more faith in life. She is the head of the Quang Ninh Province Youth Volunteer Club, a member of the Red Blood Drops of Mining Land Club. In addition, Thien Trang also built a volunteer group, often organizing donation programs, supporting poor patients to treat their illnesses and supporting funerals for families without conditions. In 2023, Pham Thien Trang was the only disabled person to receive the National Volunteer Award.

The unexpected appearance of Pham Duc Trung, Trang's younger brother, brought many touching stories and helped the audience understand more about the journey of this 9X girl's efforts.

On the stage of Love Station, there was also the appearance of the girl Nguyen Hong Thanh - the person Thien Trang called on to help with spinal surgery, helping the audience understand more about Thien Trang's silent contributions: "Giving is forever, I have been, am and will continue the journey of connecting charitable hearts, with the desire to connect with other volunteers and organizations to build larger, more meaningful charity projects".

Not only is she an example of perseverance, daring to put aside her own painful losses to rise up to help those less fortunate than herself, Thien Trang is also proving that: "Not only healthy leaves can cover torn leaves" but also leaves, broken lives can rise up to help those less fortunate. The power of love does not lie in the integrity of the body, but in the heart that knows how to share and sympathize".
