The vote aims to honor and commend outstanding literary and artistic works of high value, effectively contributing to the development of literature and art in the 50-year journey of building and developing the city.

At the same time, this is also an opportunity to recognize the efforts and creative achievements, to encourage and motivate artists to continue to promote their dynamism and creative capacity, to continue to compose, work, and contribute in many forms, creating many valuable works of art, meeting the development requirements of Ho Chi Minh City in the coming time.

The work "O R - Story after 50 years" by writer Le Van Thao was introduced and voted as one of the 50 typical literary and artistic works of the city.

According to the Organizing Committee, the selected works were composed and published from April 30, 1975 to December 31, 2023. These are representative works in 9 fields (Literature, Music, Theater, Cinema, Photography, Architecture, Fine Arts, Dance, Literature and Arts of Ethnic Minorities) in terms of ideological and artistic values.

The works must have content praising the glorious and heroic fighting tradition; the construction and development of Ho Chi Minh City; praising the life and people of the civilized, modern, and affectionate city. The works must have a wide influence and be loved by the people.

After the Specialized Council nominated outstanding works in 9 fields, the organizing committee set up the website "50 outstanding literary and artistic works loved by the people" (https://vhnt-vote.altacloud.biz/) to widely introduce to the public through newspapers and radio stations so that people can participate in voting for outstanding literary and artistic works.

The public voting period is from February 24 to March 9. Based on the public vote, the City Council will select 50 outstanding literary and artistic works in all fields.

The water puppet play "Hero Nguyen Trung Truc" by Phuong Nam Art Theater was introduced and voted among the city's 50 outstanding literary and artistic works.

Through this voting activity, the city will promote and introduce extensively literary and artistic works with high artistic value in the past 50 years; spread the good values of literary and artistic activities, typical literary and artistic works through propaganda forms, performance activities and appropriate artistic forms.

Through this, the Organizing Committee wishes to popularize and replicate typical works in social life, practically celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day.
