Binh Duong combines industrial development with urban development

In recent years, Binh Duong has been one of the leading localities in the country in attracting foreign investment, developing new generation industrial parks (IPs), associated with urban development, improving people's living standards and gradually creating green, modern and smart urban areas.

Shifting industrial park development

With a large number of concentrated industrial parks and more than half a million workers from many provinces and cities coming to live and work, Binh Duong province is considered the "industrial capital" of the country, contributing to changing the southern regions such as Thuan An, Di An, Thu Dau Mot cities, the urbanization rate is also among the top in the country (according to the plan, by 2025 the urbanization rate of Binh Duong will reach 87%, by 2030 it will be about 90%...).

Recently, the provincial leaders have advocated a model shift to developing new-generation industrial parks, along with moving industrial parks from the southern region to the northern region of the province, renovating and improving urban areas, and forming new development spaces in newly established districts. A typical example of the growth model shift is the establishment of the "Binh Duong Innovation Region" project, which is considered a breakthrough step, creating a foundation for the province to shift from labor-intensive industrial development to a knowledge-based, high-tech economic model, attracting 4.0 industries and improving the quality of life for the people. Since then, "blue eagle" enterprises have poured hundreds of millions to more than billions of USD into this land, such as the Lego Group factory (Denmark, investing more than 1.3 billion USD)...

Create dynamic spaces

It can be said that, with the vision of "infrastructure investment one step ahead", in recent years, Binh Duong province has devoted most of its resources to upgrading and expanding key routes (such as National Highway 13), building new routes to create momentum (such as Bac Tan Uyen, Phu Giao, Bau Bang), My Phuoc - Tan Van, along with the routes of Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3, 4, Ho Chi Minh Road, Chon Thanh - Duc Hoa section... In addition, the well-invested inner-city and inter-regional routes have helped Binh Duong form modern urban areas such as Binh Duong New City, Thuan An, Di An, creating the premise to become a type I urban area by 2030 on the basis of scientific organization and effective exploitation of development spaces.

In the process of developing the provincial planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, Binh Duong province will form 3 dynamic spatial zones: Dynamic zone 1 from Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 to the South; Dynamic zone 2 from Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 to Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 4; Dynamic zone 3 from Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 4 to the North and 2 ecological corridors in the East along the Dong Nai River, ecological corridors in the West along the Saigon River for breakthrough development; fully integrating development resources (geo-economic location and status, superiority and uniqueness, infrastructure system, competitiveness, connection potential, creating attraction and connection, maximizing internal resources in harmony with effectively transforming external resources...). Developing these key dynamic spaces according to priority industry clusters based on the structure: Open development space; limited development space; conservation space; space for developing technical infrastructure and logistics. Thanks to the gradually synchronous investment in traffic infrastructure, the province has attracted large corporations such as Tokyu (Japan), Aeon Mall, VSIP..., creating a boost for economic development and improving the urban appearance.

Recently, at a working session with Minister of Construction Tran Hong Minh, Vice Chairman of Binh Duong Provincial People's Committee Bui Minh Tri said that, regarding the implementation of goals and tasks for 2025, the province has proactively developed a growth scenario with the target of GRDP growth rate reaching 10.5%, GRDP per capita reaching over 198 million VND/person; Total budget revenue reaches over 13% compared to the same period in 2024, import-export turnover strives to increase over 10%/year... The Provincial People's Committee recommends that the Government review and consider issuing a special mechanism, creating a "green channel" in the mechanism for localities to take advantage of available opportunities to soon move towards the clear goals and directions set by the Politburo in Conclusion No. 123-KL/TW and Resolution No. 25/NQ-CP of the Government on growth targets for sectors, fields and localities to ensure the national growth target in 2025 reaches 8% or more.
