During the search, team K52 discovered 18 martyrs' remains and many relics from the anti-American resistance war in a resident's garden in Ia Boong commune. The biological samples are currently undergoing DNA testing.

On October 17, the leader of team K52 ( Political Department, Gia Lai Provincial Military Command) confirmed that the army force had searched and discovered 18 martyrs' remains in Ia Boong commune, Gia Lai.
The unit is taking biological samples for DNA testing; bringing all 18 sets of martyrs' remains to the Ia Boong Commune Military Command for protection and worship according to solemn rituals, in accordance with traditional national customs.
Regarding the discovery of the above martyrs' remains, speaking to reporters over the phone, Mr. Ngo Minh Hien (residing in Nguyen Van Linh commune, Hung Yen province), nephew of martyr Ngo Dinh Hao (military unit C20, Gia Lai ) said: "After many years of searching, the family received information that Uncle Hao died on May 2, 1971, on the liaison road in the area of Nam station, Ia Boong commune, Gia Lai. After the family contacted the local military force to report this information, they learned that there were two more martyrs, Le Dinh Ky and Cao Van Mui, who died on the same day as martyr Ngo Dinh Hao. The family is waiting for the authorities to determine the DNA to bring the remains back for burial."
Lieutenant Colonel Hoang Viet Ngoc, Political Commissar of Team K52, confirmed that thanks to information from Mr. Hien, along with many sources of information from local people, from October 9-15, on an area of more than 100 square meters in Mr. Kor Tan's garden (Ga village, Ia Boong commune), Team K52 organized a search and collected 18 martyrs' remains.
The remains were located about 20cm apart and were carefully buried. All the martyrs were buried in coffins or canvas, with many relics such as rubber sandals, army buttons, combs and other household items.
These are martyrs from the resistance war against American imperialism. There are about 20 graves in this area, the unit will continue to expand the search until all information is exhausted.
Currently, all 18 martyrs' remains have been sampled for DNA testing./.
