Binh Phuoc donates funds to border protection forces of two neighboring provinces, Tbong Khmum and Kratie (Cambodia).

At the area of milestone 76, Loc Tan - Tuan Lung opening, Loc Thien Border Post and milestone 69, Hoa Lu International Border Gate, the Binh Phuoc Border Guard Command has just organized a donation of funds to the border protection forces of the two adjacent provinces of Tbong Khmum and Kratie, Kingdom of Cambodia.

The Border Guard Command of Binh Phuoc province has awarded nearly 1.4 billion VND in support funds to units including the Military Sub-region, the Public Security Department and the Gendarmerie Command of the two neighboring provinces, each unit about 233 million VND.

The two sides also briefly exchanged views on the 2022 commune and ward elections; the situation and developments of the Covid-19 pandemic and agreed to strengthen coordination in trade activities, information exchange, patrolling, controlling, and preventing violations of border regulations to join hands in protecting territorial sovereignty and border security in border areas.

Speaking at the award ceremony, Colonel Le Da Tinh, Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of the Provincial Border Guard, said: Although the amount of money donated is not large, with the spirit of solidarity, friendship and long-standing tradition of the two countries and two peoples, this is an encouragement and support to help ease the difficulties of the friendly units.

Representatives of the border protection forces of the two provinces of Tbong Khmum and Kratie expressed their deep gratitude for the attention of the Binh Phuoc Border Guard and affirmed that in the coming time, they will continue to coordinate in performing tasks so that the solidarity and friendship between Vietnam and Cambodia will be forever green and sustainable.

Binh Phuoc is one of the provinces that completed the demarcation and marker planting work in the province the earliest, which was highly appreciated by the Central Government with a total of 28 main markers and 353 sub-markers.

Binh Phuoc is a locality with friendly cooperative relations and regularly organizes investment promotion with localities of countries such as: Cambodia, Laos, Japan, Korea, Netherlands, India, Singapore, United States, Thailand, Canada... The province also signed memorandums of understanding on investment cooperation and upgrading border gates with local authorities of countries: Kingdom of Cambodia (Kratie, Mondulkiri, Stung Treng, Tabong Khmum, Kampong Cham, Kampong Thom), Laos (Salavan, Champasak), Hoogeveen city (Netherlands), Korea (Jeollanam-do)...

In the past 5 years, Binh Phuoc has attracted 25 foreign non-governmental organizations with a total disbursed aid value of 5,229,331 USD. The province has established the Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations and affiliated associations (Vietnam - Cambodia, Vietnam - Laos, Vietnam - Korea).

Binh Phuoc is also the focal point for solidarity, friendship, cultural exchange, cooperation and assistance activities between the people of the province and the people of the localities of Cambodia, Laos, Korea and Japan. In addition, the province has connected with localities of other countries to open a tourism route across 4 countries (Vietnam - Cambodia - Laos - Thailand). These results have actively contributed to promoting regional connectivity, international cooperation, and enhancing the promotion of Binh Phuoc's image to the international community.

In the past 2 years, due to the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic, Binh Phuoc has temporarily suspended foreign visits and exchanges of information with neighboring provinces of the Kingdom of Cambodia and postponed investment and trade promotion trips with foreign partners.

However, in order to maintain and strengthen the friendly and solidarity relationship with partners, the Department of Foreign Affairs has advised the province to replace foreign visits with the forms of sending letters of inquiry, congratulatory letters, sending gifts on the occasion of traditional holidays and New Year... At the same time, it has supported part of the funding and medical supplies to prevent the Covid-19 epidemic to neighboring provinces of the Kingdom of Cambodia and the southern provinces of the Lao People's Democratic Republic.

In addition to efforts to complete professional tasks, Binh Phuoc Department of Foreign Affairs also organized many practical activities to support the fight against Covid-19 and social security. Along with that, it actively mobilized benefactors inside and outside the province, non-governmental organizations to support medical supplies and necessities worth 1 billion 532 million VND.

Mr. Nguyen Van Sach, Chairman of the Khmer-Vietnamese Association in Kratie province, said: Although we have been away from our homeland for a long time, Vietnamese people here still receive both material and spiritual attention from the government and people of Binh Phuoc province. This makes us, the overseas Vietnamese living in Cambodia, very emotional.
