According to Yonhap News , on the evening of August 15 (local time), BlackPink had their first performance of two nights at Wembley Stadium, London (UK), as part of the Deadline World Tour.
This marks a milestone for K-pop, as it is the first time a girl group has held a concert at Wembley - which has a maximum capacity of 90,000 people. Before BlackPink, only BTS was able to do this.
BlackPink 'pockets' another record
Wembley has long been known as the "cathedral of pop music". This is the place that held legendary concerts such as Live Aid in 1985 by Queen, Michael Jackson, Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, Oasis and many other world-class artists.
Therefore, the fact that BlackPink can hold their own concert here is a remarkable achievement for a girl group in particular, and K-pop in general.

At the show, BlackPink "burned" themselves out with fans, performing continuously for more than 2 hours with a series of outstanding songs such as Kill this love , Pink venom , How you like that , Shut down , Lovesick girls ,...
Interspersed between group performances were solo performances by each member. In particular, performances of songs like Like Jennie , APT. and the new song Jump made Wembley Stadium "hotter" than ever.
According to Yonhap News , tens of thousands of fans gathered before the show began. A long line of spectators lined up from Wembley Park station leading into the stadium, most of them wearing pink outfits or BlackPink-related accessories.

In particular, the audience not only comes from England but also from other countries such as Germany, Belgium, Norway and many other European countries.
Speaking on stage, member Rosé said: "We can be the first K-pop girl group to perform at Wembley. It's really like a dream. This is thanks to you."
Wembley is the mid-point stop on BlackPink's Deadline World Tour, which runs from July until the end of this year.
The tour is scheduled to hold 31 shows in 16 major cities around the world, starting from the main stadium in Goyang (Korea) in early July. Currently, the group has had successful shows with stages in Goyang, Los Angeles, Chicago, Toronto, New York, Paris, Milan and Barcelona.

This is not the first time BlackPink has made their mark in the UK. In 2023, the group became the first K-pop act to headline the famous British Summer Time Festival in Hyde Park.
That same year, the group was also awarded the Order of the British Empire (MBE) by King Charles III at Buckingham Palace for their contributions to global cultural exchange.
BlackPink's next performance at Wembley is scheduled to take place on the evening of August 16 (local time), concluding two historic nights for K-pop in the UK.
