"The above acts, depending on the severity, can be subject to administrative or criminal sanctions. For example, last year, Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Hang - General Director of Dai Nam Joint Stock Company was fined by Ho Chi Minh City police for providing false information," said Major General Tuyen.

Regarding the false information related to ACB bank, the spokesman of the Ministry of Public Security said that so far, the authorities have not received any petitions from the relevant parties.

Mr. Tuyen affirmed that whenever there is a petition, the police will handle it according to the law.

Major General Tuyen also emphasized that he would strictly handle acts of spreading false, inaccurate, slanderous, and defamatory information on social networks, especially acts that negatively affect economic , financial, monetary, and investment security. At the same time, he expressed his hope that media agencies would coordinate in spreading propaganda and pushing back bad and toxic information.

Previously, some individuals used social media to livestream information about "ACB leaders gambling and transferring money abroad". Then, on the evening of January 4, ACB issued an official statement denying the false information being spread on social media related to senior leaders.

ACB said that the bank has received information about some individuals taking advantage of social networks to broadcast live (livestream) false information about ACB leaders gambling, transferring tens of millions of USD abroad... The bank affirmed that the above content is fabricated.

According to ACB's announcement, this false information risks causing confusion and public opinion, negatively affecting the financial and monetary security of the finance and banking sector in Vietnam.

The bank has collected all posted content and spread of false information in accordance with legal procedures to report the incident to competent management agencies for handling in accordance with the law.

Also on the evening of January 4, on his personal Facebook page, Mr. Tran Hung Huy, Chairman of ACB, spoke up to advise customers to clearly understand the information and avoid being negatively affected by false information about ACB leaders.
