The Ministry of Education and Training agrees with the plan for cadres, civil servants and public employees to have 9 consecutive days off for Tet At Ty from the proposal of the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs .

Many ministries and sectors "finalize" the 2025 Lunar New Year holiday plan

Specifically, the Lunar New Year holiday is from January 25 to February 2, 2025, which is from December 26, year of the Dragon, to January 5, year of the Snake.

For the 2025 National Day holiday , the Ministry of Education and Training agreed on a plan for cadres, civil servants, and public employees to have 4 days off, from August 30 to September 2, 2025.

On the occasion of April 30 and May 1 , the Ministry agreed to swap the working day from Friday, May 2 to Saturday, April 26, 2025, so that the holiday lasts for 5 days from April 30 to May 4, 2025.

Previously, according to the 2024-2025 school year plan issued by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, Ho Chi Minh City students will have Lunar New Year holiday from January 25, 2025 (December 26, Giap Thin year) to February 2, 2025 (January 5, At Ty year).

Thus, students in Ho Chi Minh City also have 9 consecutive days off for Lunar New Year.

In addition to the Ministry of Education and Training, many agencies have agreed to take Tet and National Day holidays on September 2, as well as April 30 and May 1 in 2025, including the Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Transport , Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Ministry of Health, etc.

Enterprises decide Tet holiday schedule based on reality

Speaking with Tuoi Tre Online , Mr. Ha Tat Thang - Director of the Department of Labor Safety (Ministry of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs) - stated that every year the ministry will announce the plan and collect opinions from 16 agencies and ministries for annual holidays, then submit it to the Prime Minister for decision.

For example, the Ministry of Home Affairs is related to civil servants and public employees, while the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and the Federation of Commerce and Industry collect opinions from workers and businesses...

According to Mr. Thang, Lunar New Year is regulated to be 5 days off according to the 2019 Labor Code. The Prime Minister does not decide to add more days but can swap the holidays alternately so that officials, civil servants, public employees and workers can have a continuous and convenient holiday.

He reiterated the proposed plan for civil servants and public employees. Enterprises should arrange suitable working hours according to their plans and production line requirements, ensuring better salary policies and conditions for workers.

In Vietnam, workers get a total of 11 official holidays and Tet with full pay.

Specifically, including New Year's Day (1 day), Lunar New Year (5 days), Hung King's Commemoration Day (10/3 lunar month) (1 day), Victory Day (4/30) (1 day), International Labor Day (5/1 day) and National Day (9/2 days). Foreigners working in Vietnam are entitled to an additional day off for traditional New Year's Day and their country's National Day.
