(MPI) - Implementing Decision No. 964/QD-TTg dated August 10, 2022 of the Prime Minister approving the National Cyber Security Strategy, proactively responding to challenges from cyberspace until 2025, with a vision to 2030 and legal provisions on information security and cyber security. On October 9, 2024, the Ministry of Planning and Investment organized a practical exercise to respond to cyber security incidents.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the program, Mr. Nguyen Nhu Son, Director of the Center for Information Technology and Digital Transformation, said that the Ministry of Planning and Investment has developed a comprehensive plan to ensure network safety and security to implement the National Network Safety and Security Strategy, proactively responding to challenges from cyberspace until 2025, with a vision to 2030. Information security is a key issue, implementing Decision No. 1632/QD-BKHĐT dated October 2, 2023 of the Minister of Planning and Investment, the Center for Information Technology and Digital Transformation will carry out real-life exercises directly linking the exercises to the systems, thereby helping to improve skills and experience in handling incidents for systems in operation. Helping the response team to always be ready and on standby to handle incidents of real-life attacks.
Presenting the Information Security Situation Report of the Ministry of Planning and Investment in 2024, Mr. Mau Van Son, Head of the Department of Safety, Security and Network Infrastructure, Center for Information Technology and Digital Transformation, said that the Data Center of the Ministry of Planning and Investment has deployed many national information systems and databases; serving people and businesses; serving internal activities: 100% of the information systems deployed at the Ministry's data center have had their level proposal documents approved.
The Ministry of Planning and Investment has implemented regulations on ensuring information security of the Ministry such as: propagating, disseminating, raising awareness and skills of cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers on network safety and security; Training and fostering cadres on network safety and security; Building, reviewing and amending internal regulations on ensuring network safety and security in accordance with regulations on network safety and security; Designating and perfecting the department performing tasks on network safety and security; Determining the level of information system security and implementing plans to ensure information system security according to the approved level; Coordinating and rehearsing response to network safety and security incidents; Preventing malware centrally and sharing malware information; Monitoring and sharing information on monitoring security and security; Checking, assessing information security and managing information security risks.

Cyber security and safety are at the heart of the digital transformation process, an important pillar in creating digital trust and prosperous development in the digital age. Cyber security and safety are important, regular, long-term tasks to create and maintain a safe, healthy, and trustworthy network environment for agencies, organizations, businesses, and every citizen. Through the exercise, units within the Ministry of Planning and Investment will learn from each other, share experiences, and detect existing loopholes to help improve defense capacity, system readiness, and share knowledge and experience, together improve readiness, promptly grasp, and effectively exploit the opportunities brought by cyberspace for socio -economic development, making important contributions to the country's development.
The exercise will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on October 15-17, 2024. The exercise on a real system will help prevent and detect security vulnerabilities, the level of exploitation and the duration of the exercise to minimize risks to the systems./.
