According to the bulletin of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, from the night of March 5, the weather in the North and North Central regions will turn cold, with some mountainous areas in the North experiencing severe cold.
The lowest temperature in this cold air mass in the North (including the capital Hanoi) is generally from 12 - 15 degrees Celsius, in mountainous areas below 8 degrees Celsius; North Central region is generally 14 - 17 degrees Celsius; Quang Binh to Hue is generally 17 - 20 degrees Celsius.
To proactively respond to severe cold and strong winds at sea, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment recommends that provinces and cities in the Northern region (including Hanoi) closely monitor warning bulletins and forecasts on the development of cold air.
The key task in the coming time is to promptly inform local authorities and people to proactively take appropriate preventive measures. Deploy plans to respond to the cold.
In particular, it is necessary to strengthen guidance on ensuring health for people and students at boarding schools. Note that coal stoves should not be used for heating in closed rooms to avoid human casualties.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment also requested provinces and cities to focus on disseminating and instructing livestock households to strengthen barns, cover and keep warm, and store food; prevent and control epidemics for livestock and poultry; and provide guidance on measures to ensure safety for rice, vegetable and other crop production.
