What problems does the Ministry of Finance require Quang Nam Lottery Company to overcome?

The Ministry of Finance has sent an official dispatch to the People's Committee of Quang Nam province regarding compliance with legal regulations on lottery business of Quang Nam Lottery Company.

Accordingly, to implement the plan to inspect lottery business activities in 2024, the Ministry of Finance coordinated with the Quang Nam Department of Finance and the Provincial Tax Department to inspect the lottery business activities of the above company.

Through inspection, the company's lottery business activities have shortcomings such as: Issuing regulations on collecting unsold lottery tickets, stubs and manual lottery ticket storage, asset management regulations, receivables management regulations, prize participation regulations, and prize drawing regulations do not fully comply with regulations, and have not updated legal documents.

The Ministry of Finance has issued an official dispatch requesting Quang Nam Lottery Company to urgently review and overcome the above shortcomings and report the results to the ministry before July 12.

The Ministry also requested the People's Committee of Quang Nam province, as the owner, to supervise the company's remediation of shortcomings according to the inspection team's content and recommendations in the inspection report. Direct the company to comply with legal regulations on lottery business.

After receiving the Ministry's dispatch, the People's Committee of Quang Nam province assigned the Department of Finance to preside over and coordinate with relevant agencies, units and localities to study the opinions of the Ministry of Finance in the above dispatch to advise the Provincial People's Committee to implement the contents to ensure current regulations.

In addition, Quang Nam Lottery Company is required to urgently overcome the existing problems according to the recommendations of the Ministry of Finance's inspection team and strictly implement legal regulations on lottery business.

As reported by Tuoi Tre Online , in April 2024, the Ministry of Finance approved a plan to inspect lottery, casino and prize-winning game business activities for foreigners in 2024.

The ministry plans to inspect 10 lottery companies, 11 businesses operating prize-winning games for foreigners and six casino companies this year.

Lottery companies included in the inspection plan include: 4 companies in the North (Lao Cai, Yen Bai , Thai Nguyen, Bac Giang), 4 companies in the Central region (Quang Nam, Da Nang, Quang Ngai, Kon Tum) and 2 companies in the South (Binh Thuan, Ben Tre).

The management agency will inspect the lottery issuance operations and compliance with financial management regulations of these enterprises.
