On June 13, Mr. Nguyen Kim Son, Minister of Education and Training , and his delegation had a working session with Quang Ngai province regarding preparations for the 2024 high school graduation exam.

The Minister requested to ensure the security of printing and transporting exam papers. It is necessary to propagate, parents and candidates to raise the spirit of self-awareness, to avoid cases of candidates falling asleep.

Quang Ngai has nearly 14,400 candidates taking the exam.

In the morning, the minister and the working delegation inspected the actual conditions for organizing the high school graduation exam at the exam site of Tran Quoc Tuan High School (Quang Ngai City).

This is the testing site with the largest number of candidates taking the 2024 high school graduation exam in Quang Ngai with 884 candidates.

The biggest concern of this testing site is that it is close to residential areas and needs support to ensure security and safety during the exam. Minister Nguyen Kim Son requested the exam steering committee to pay attention to ensuring security.

Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Thai, Director of the Department of Education and Training, said that in 2024, Quang Ngai has 14,394 candidates registered to take the high school graduation exam; the province has arranged 35 testing sites, with 635 rooms; it is expected that 2,195 officials and teachers will participate in the exam.

Mr. Tran Hoang Tuan - Vice Chairman of Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Steering Committee for the 2024 High School Graduation Exam - said that preparations for the exam have been basically completed. Although Quang Ngai does not lack electricity, the province still directed that each exam site have generators to avoid power outages during the exam.

Minister Nguyen Kim Son noted that the printing, copying and transporting of exam papers must comply with confidentiality and regulations. At the same time, absolute security and safety must be ensured throughout the process before, during and after the exam. Ensuring the exam takes place safely, seriously, honestly, objectively, fairly and with quality.

Minister notes many issues in organizing high school graduation exams

In the afternoon, Minister Nguyen Kim Son and his delegation had a working session with Quang Ngai province. Ms. Bui Thi Quynh Van, Secretary of the Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee, said that the province's top priority is to ensure the safety, convenience, and efficiency of candidates participating in the high school graduation exam.

Regarding security, we must monitor the situation of each exam session and promptly handle even the smallest situations. "In addition, the province will strictly handle violations if they arise from subjective errors in the exam work," Ms. Van said.

With careful preparation for the high school graduation exam in Quang Ngai, Minister Nguyen Kim Son highly appreciated the proactiveness and attention of the Provincial Party Committee and Provincial People's Committee.

However, the minister noted that there should be a backup plan in case of unexpected situations. Especially natural disasters and risks must have a plan to handle.

Inspecting the exam printing area in Quang Ngai, the minister highly appreciated the facilities, but noted that security work needs to be arranged to ensure absolute safety in printing exam papers.

Regarding support for candidates taking the exam, for candidates who live far away and are at risk of being late to the exam room, it is necessary to proactively mobilize forces and call to remind them. The Minister said that there was a situation where a father and son took the exam, were so happy that their child did well that they fell asleep and were unable to take the afternoon exam.

In addition, in case of an incident or situation related to the exam, it is necessary to calmly handle it thoroughly and appropriately.

The Minister also suggested that before the exam takes place, it is necessary to actively communicate and inform candidates and parents to raise their self-awareness, avoid bringing prohibited items such as phones into the exam room, violating exam regulations...
