According to the VNA special correspondent, within the framework of his official visit to the Kingdom of Morocco, on the afternoon of July 25th local time, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man attended a seminar on policies to promote Vietnam-Morocco cooperation.
In his opening remarks, Chairman of the Moroccan Federation of Businesses Chakib Alj stated that the seminar demonstrated the leaders' interest in the business communities of both countries for the common benefit of both nations, as well as the Parliament 's concern for the economic development of both countries based on a good, trusting, and respectful relationship.
The President of the Moroccan Federation of Businesses shared that, thanks to the wise leadership of the King and the Government, Morocco has experienced strong development in recent times.
Morocco is considered an important gateway to the African market with its stable economic growth, developed industry, modern infrastructure, especially the high-speed rail (the first system in Africa) and a well-developed highway system, and a highly trained workforce.
Morocco has also defined its vision for 2030, which will focus on developing renewable energy, tourism, and services.
According to the President of the Moroccan Federation of Businesses, Vietnam is one of the most open economies in the world, with strengths in agricultural processing, electronics, and education and training, making it a partner that many countries desire to cooperate with. Therefore, promoting cooperation between Morocco and Vietnam will bring many opportunities, especially in areas such as aviation, green energy, and logistics.
With thriving business communities in both countries, this forum is a valuable opportunity to strengthen ties between the two economies. The President of the Moroccan Federation of Businesses hopes that cooperation with Vietnam will become a model of collaboration between an African and an Asian country.

Speaking at the seminar, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man said that the seminar was a valuable opportunity for Vietnamese and Moroccan businesses to exchange ideas and explore investment cooperation opportunities to promote sustainable economic cooperation, bringing practical benefits to both sides.
Expressing his delight at visiting the beautiful and hospitable country of Morocco, the Speaker of the National Assembly said that he had had very successful meetings and discussions with Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch, Speaker of the House of Representatives Rachid Talbi Alami, and President of the Senate Mohamed Ould Errachid.
The official visit of the high-level Vietnamese delegation to the Kingdom of Morocco aims to consolidate and further strengthen the good cooperative relationship between the legislative bodies of the two countries, creating momentum for expanding bilateral cooperation in various fields.
The Speaker of the National Assembly emphasized that Vietnam has always paid attention to and valued its friendly countries in Africa, especially Morocco.
The Speaker of the National Assembly stated that despite facing many difficulties and challenges, Vietnam has achieved many accomplishments in socio-economic development.
In 2024, GDP growth reached 7.09%; 15 out of 15 socio-economic targets were met or exceeded; GDP reached approximately US$470 billion, and per capita income reached over US$4,700. In the first six months of 2025, GDP growth is projected to be around 7.52%.
Currently, Vietnam is the 34th largest economy in the world, with strong development in industry, trade, and services. Regarding attracting foreign direct investment (FDI), in the first six months of 2025, Vietnam attracted approximately US$20 billion in registered capital.
According to the Speaker of the National Assembly, the potential for economic, trade, and investment cooperation between Vietnam and Morocco is enormous, but it has not yet been exploited to its full potential. Bilateral trade turnover remains modest, and direct investment projects between the two countries are still limited.
The seminar is a valuable opportunity for both sides to exchange ideas and find solutions to remove barriers, improve the legal framework, and promote sustainable economic cooperation.

Sharing some key directions for investment cooperation between Vietnam and Morocco in the coming period, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man suggested perfecting the bilateral legal framework. The two countries need to review and sign any missing agreements and promote public-private partnership (PPP) cooperation in their respective sectors.
The Speaker of the National Assembly affirmed that Vietnam is ready to share its model for building raw material areas, agricultural and aquatic product supply chains, export processing centers, and commodity exchanges that are suitable to Morocco's climate and social conditions.
At the same time, both sides need to strengthen business connections. Business associations, such as the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and their Moroccan partners should promote trade programs, exhibitions, and fairs so that businesses from both countries can seek concrete cooperation opportunities.
Regarding multilateral cooperation in Africa, the Speaker of the National Assembly stated: "Morocco, with its strategic location and increasingly important role in Africa, can work with Vietnam to implement trilateral or quadrilateral cooperation projects, especially in the fields of agriculture and technology, with the participation of international donors. Vietnam's strengths lie in agriculture, textiles, and footwear..."
