Ads featuring clinical trials by the Institute of Nutrition
The Food Safety Department ( Ministry of Health ) said it has received feedback about Nestlé Milo products having advertising content related to clinical trial reports of the National Institute of Nutrition.
Pursuant to the provisions of Article 40 of Decree 15/2018/ND-CP detailing the implementation of a number of articles of the Law on Food Safety, the Department of Food Safety has issued Official Dispatch No. 1030/ATTP-NDTT to the Dong Nai Department of Health requesting to inspect, verify information, and handle the advertising of this product according to current regulations.
The Food Safety Department requested the Institute of Nutrition to verify information and handle the advertisement of Nestlé Milo products with content about clinical trials by the Institute of Nutrition.

At the same time, the Department also issued Official Dispatch No. 1031/ATTP-NDTT requesting the National Institute of Nutrition to urgently inspect and review the communication and advertising content of these products to ensure compliance with the provisions (in Clause 2, Article 27) of Decree 15/2018/ND-CP of the Government detailing the implementation of a number of articles of the Law on Food Safety and implementing Directive 17/CT-TTg dated May 9, 2017 of the Prime Minister on strengthening the effectiveness and efficiency of state management and rectifying advertising activities.
According to the provisions of Decree 15/2018/ND-CP, regarding food advertising, advertising content must be consistent with the uses and effects of the product as announced in the product declaration.
Do not use images, equipment, costumes, names, correspondence of medical units, facilities, doctors, pharmacists, medical staff, thank you letters from patients, articles of doctors, pharmacists, medical staff to advertise food.
According to an officer of the Food Safety Department, Nestlé Milo barley milk product has its quality announced at the Dong Nai Department of Health.
The coordination of testing and advertising of Nestlé Milo food supplement products depends on the commitment of the Institute of Nutrition to cooperate with the product owner, not approved by the Food Safety Department.
