The Vietnamese men's volleyball team had a determined start against their fateful opponent Thailand in an important match.

In set 1, the Vietnamese team played with full fire. The first pass and defense were well organized, creating a foundation for the attack with Quoc Duy, Ngoc Thuan, Duy Tuyen and Trong Nghia continuously scoring points.

However, at the crucial moment, Coach Tran Dinh Tien's players let Thailand score consecutive points to lead 23-20. Efforts to save the set-point helped the match to be more dramatic, but a mistake in the first step prevented Trong Nghia from finishing well, and Thailand won 31-29.
