The Dimensity 9400 is built on the second-generation All Big Core design and ARM v9.2 CPU architecture, with a 1+3+4 architecture that optimizes performance in all tasks. Specifically, this chip includes:
A single Cortex-X925 core clocked at 3.63 GHz is dedicated to handling high-performance tasks.
3 Cortex-X4 cores with a maximum speed of 3.3 GHz.
Four energy-efficient Cortex-A720 cores, running at 2.4 GHz.
Compared to its predecessor, the Dimensity 9400 boasts a 15% increase in instructions per cycle (IPC), resulting in a 35% increase in single-core performance and a 28% increase in multi-core performance.
Dimensity 9400 supports on-device AI processing.
In terms of graphics processing, MediaTek has equipped the Immortalis-G925 GPU, operating at 1,612 MHz, providing 40% faster ray tracing and 44% more power efficiency compared to previous versions. This results in a smoother visual and graphics experience for users, especially when gaming or handling high-end graphics.
In terms of AI processing capabilities, the Dimensity 9400 integrates the 890 NPU, enabling it to perform artificial intelligence tasks more efficiently and energy-efficiently.
This NPU consumes 35% less energy than its predecessor, supporting features such as 100x zoom, improved image detail, and 4K video recording at 60fps with optimized energy efficiency.
MediaTek also brought breakthroughs in photography and videography capabilities with the Imagiq 1090 ISP, enabling smartphones with the Dimensity 9400 chip to shoot HDR video across the entire zoom range.
This means users can switch between zoom levels and lenses without degrading video quality, opening up endless creative opportunities for filmmakers and content creators.
The Dimensity 9400 is the first chipset on the market to support LPDDR5X RAM at 10.7 Gb/s, a major step forward in optimizing the speed and performance of mobile devices. In addition, the L2 cache is increased by 100% and the L3 cache by 50%, significantly improving data processing speed.
According to MediaTek, the Dimensity 9400 has begun shipping to major OEM manufacturers such as Oppo and Vivo. This chip is expected to appear in new Android flagship models like the Oppo Find X8 and Vivo X200, delivering superior performance and top-tier features for users.
