(MPI) - On June 4, 2024, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Planning and Investment , Deputy Minister Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc had a working session with the Australian business delegation led by Australian Ambassador to Vietnam Andrew Goledzinowski to discuss the investment and business environment in Vietnam.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc congratulated the Ambassador and the Australian business delegation for coming to work at the Ministry of Planning and Investment to discuss issues of mutual interest to enhance dialogue, connection, and promote cooperation in the fields of science and technology , trade promotion, investment, innovation, digital transformation, and green transformation more strongly between the two countries.
Deputy Minister Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc assessed that there is still much room for cooperation between the two countries, but the scale of Australia's investment in Vietnam is still modest. Australia ranks 20th out of 146 countries and territories investing in Vietnam. The two economies can complement each other, so it is necessary to organize seminars to exchange and share experiences to contribute to strengthening the close cooperation between the two governments and businesses.
The Deputy Minister also shared Vietnam's achievements, difficulties and challenges in socio-economic development and said that in the coming time, Vietnam will prioritize carbon neutral projects, aiming to promote Vietnam's progress in the global production chain and green production. The Deputy Minister hopes that the Ambassador and Australian businesses will continue to cooperate with Vietnam in the fields of trade, digital transformation investment, energy transformation and transportation, etc. to contribute to the socio-economic development of Vietnam in the coming time as well as bring benefits to both countries.
Agreeing with Deputy Minister Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc, Ambassador Andrew Goledzinowski affirmed that the Australian Embassy in Vietnam will closely coordinate with the Ministry of Planning and Investment to implement major directions in the Vietnam - Australia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership to bring cooperation between the two countries in all fields to a deeper, more effective and more substantial level.
The two sides will work closely together to deepen and comprehensively cooperate in culture, education and training, environment, and climate change response. Promote the green hydrogen production industry in Vietnam; cooperate in responding to climate change, and support Vietnam in achieving its goal of achieving net zero emissions by 2050.
At the meeting, representatives from the Ministry of Planning and Investment, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, and the Ministry of Transport shared information on policies and general management of energy transition; Vietnam's orientation on developing transport infrastructure projects: Current status, action plan, opportunities for foreign investors for green transport in Vietnam.
