Previously, at around 2:00 p.m. on May 7, Ca Mau General Hospital received a 51-year-old male patient (residing in Dinh Binh commune, Ca Mau city) with symptoms of severe headache.
Doctors took carotid artery and brain X-rays and found an aneurysm in the left internal carotid artery in the posterior segment that could cause a rupture of a cerebral blood vessel.
Ca Mau General Hospital has coordinated with SIS Can Tho International General Hospital to diagnose and provide intervention methods.
After more than an hour of intervention to plug the cerebral aneurysm with a metal coil and intensive care, the intervention was successful. Currently, the patient is awake, recovering well and can be discharged in the next few days.
