Singer Duy Manh will release the song "Mouse Father" with humorous satirical lyrics about the incident where his car caught fire and the cause was said to be rats.
Share with PV, Singer Duy Manh said the song tells the story of the "mouse" image that was the center of controversy between him and a car company.
Being an honest person, Duy Manh said he didn't want to keep any resentment or random thoughts about the incident in his head, so he decided to turn it into a song.
"I am enjoying the joyful atmosphere of the historic month of April. After the holiday, I will release the song along with all the evidence about the car fire," singer Duy Manh said.
According to the lawsuit, on August 18, 2020, singer Duy Manh signed a contract to buy a car company for more than 4.7 billion VND. The company committed to a 36-month warranty with unlimited kilometers.
On the night of February 15, 2023, while the car was parked in the basement of the Feliz En Vista apartment building (Thu Duc City), it suddenly caught fire for unknown reasons. When the incident occurred, Thu Duc City police and residents quickly put out the fire and moved the car.
According to the forensic results of the Ho Chi Minh City Police Department's Institute of Criminal Science , the cause of the fire was "due to a collision and short circuit on the electrical wire installed behind the vehicle engine. The short circuit caused a high-energy electric arc that burned the insulation, melted the core of the electrical wire and spread to surrounding flammable materials, causing the vehicle to catch fire."
On March 30, 2023, after inspection, the car company determined that rats had gnawed and damaged the electrical wires, leading to a short circuit and fire.
After the fire, Vietnam Star Automobile Company lent him a replacement car until May 7, 2023. Liberty Insurance Company compensated Duy Manh 2.89 billion VND. However, the male singer said that this amount was much lower than the value of the car, so he filed a lawsuit. Specifically, he asked the car company to compensate more than 2.5 billion VND, including: car damage (after insurance deduction), bank loan interest (from February 2023 to June 2023) and legal fees of 423 million VND.
