The only Vietnamese Gen Z singer to perform at European music festival

(Dan Tri) - Thoại Nghi - a Gen Z female singer who created a social media effect with the song "Take me home" - revealed her life and career after a year of turning to singing.

Thoại Nghi, born in 2005, is one of the Gen Z artists who is gradually making her mark in the Vietnamese music industry. Before pursuing a professional music career, she participated in a number of beauty contests such as Miss Teen International Vietnam 2021 and Miss Teen Universe 2022.

However, instead of continuing to compete in beauty pageants, Thoại Nghi focused on developing her singing career. She released her first EP (extended play) titled Adapt, marking her first step on the professional music path.

Earlier this year, the song " Take me home" performed by Thoại Nghi went viral on social media, especially TikTok. Recently, the female singer continued to release the English version of this song. This is considered a change in direction that suits her personal advantage, because the female singer is able to use English fluently.

According to Thoại Nghi, the English lyrics were rewritten to be clear and easy to listen to, keeping the youthful, gentle spirit of the original. The performance also shows effort in pronunciation, word enunciation, and handling of pop melodies in an international style.

The release of the new version also marks a period of expanding her musical activities to the international market. In July, Thoại Nghi will have her first tour in Europe, specifically in Croatia - where she will perform at 3 major events: Summertide Festival, Zulu Night and Forestland Festival.

These events bring together a large number of international artists in the electronic music genre, attracting tens of thousands of attendees each year. Thoại Nghi is the only Vietnamese artist to participate in this series of programs.

Sharing about the tour, Thoại Nghi said: "From the moment I received the invitation, I knew this was a very special opportunity, not only for myself but also for Vietnamese music.

As the only Vietnamese artist participating in these stages, I want to prepare carefully so that when I stand on stage, I can bring the right energy and musical spirit of a Vietnamese Gen Z singer to international friends."
