Quoc Thien transformed into 'Brave Warrior', bought Dong Thien Duc's song for life

Quoc Thien was inspired by the program Brave Soldiers to make the MV 'Suddenly Becoming a Stranger', a song composed by musician Dong Thien Duc.

On the evening of October 15, singer Quoc Thien released the MV "Tu dang thanh nguoi la" (Suddenly became a stranger) directed by Kien Ung. The song is a ballad composed by musician Dong Thien Duc and arranged by Hoai Sa.

MV inspired by Brave Soldier

As one of the artists participating in the program Brave Soldier , Quoc Thien was transformed into a police officer performing his duty, facing fire and danger.

That journey left him with many thoughts about sacrifice, courage, how people face fear and the desire to contribute to the Fatherland. That was also the inspiration for him and Kien Ung to make this MV.

"When I heard Quoc Thien talk about his experience at Brave Soldiers, I imagined the story. We discussed ideas very quickly. We both wanted to make a product that was not only beautiful, but also genuine and profound" - Kien Ung shared.

In the MV, the firefighter relives the moment when he couldn't save his lover from the fire. That memory is like a loop. Every time the fire flares up, he finds the girl and saves her. That is like a torment, "if only" in the boy's soul.

The MV uses some clips from the journey in Brave Soldier combined with new scenes. All smoke and fire effects are done for real, no CGI is used. Quoc Thien and the actors do not wear protective masks in most of the scenes, to keep the emotions intact.

The female lead in the MV is Nguyen Ngoc Phuong Vy (Bau Krysie), runner-up of The Face Vietnam 2023. Hung Nguyen appears in the final segments, containing the twist of the MV.

Quoc Thien buys Dong Thien Duc's song for life

For Quoc Thien, this is not simply a solo MV, but the opening product for an upcoming musical journey. The song has a deep ballad melody, coming from musician Dong Thien Duc - the author of Ngay mai nguoi ta la chong, Ai trung tinh duoc mai, Mot vong Viet Nam...

During the exchange, Dong Thien Duc and Quoc Thien contemplated "noble love", which, even though they were apart, was still full of respect and tolerance.

That feeling is the main reason why Quoc Thien decided to buy this song for life, so he can sing it anytime, anywhere, as a part of his memory forever.

Musician Hoai Sa, a "master" of harmony and arrangement, is a close collaborator of Quoc Thien. The singer believes that with ballad songs, Hoai Sa always knows how to elevate the song, maintaining subtlety and emotion. The arrangement of Tu Dung Thanh Nguoi Lan is gentle , calm but not sad. Quoc Thien's voice has many colors, sometimes warm and smooth, sometimes sad.

On November 22, Quoc Thien will hold the live concert SkyNote: The Reflection 2025 in Ho Chi Minh City with guest artists including Ho Ngoc Ha, Bui Cong Nam and MONO.
