(Dan Tri) - Recently, singer Trong Tan and his wife visited People's Artist Tran Hieu. The male artist is feeling better and can talk to his students.

Trong Tan and his wife Thanh Hoa visited People's Artist Tran Hieu's house to ask about his health, after he spent nearly a month in the hospital.

Trong Tan shared that People's Artist Tran Hieu is healthier, can talk and tease his students. When Trong Tan took a photo, artist Tran Hieu said "let me see the photo after you're done".

"The U90 guy is still very innocent. The U50 guy still has a long way to go to be as good as his teacher," singer Trong Tan commented about Tran Hieu.

Sharing with Dan Tri reporter, Mrs. Minh Nga - People's Artist Tran Hieu's wife - said that her husband's health has improved, but he is still receiving special care to recover.

After the surgery, although the abscess was treated, the male artist’s jaw was still misaligned. He still had to take medication and rinse his mouth with salt water every day.

Previously, on September 13, Mrs. Nga took him to the 108 Military Central Hospital because of metastatic cancer, tooth and nose abscesses, and pus flowing into the jawbone.

After surgery, on September 23, People's Artist Tran Hieu was transferred to the Central Geriatric Hospital for kidney treatment because he had been taking a lot of medication recently and his kidneys were weak.

"He is still weak but still passionate about singing. On October 1, on the occasion of International Day of Older Persons, he also stood up to sing with everyone and interacted with the patients here. However, he could only sing a few lines of the song "My Mother" because he could not stand for long and his memory was worse than before," Ms. Minh Nga recounted.

According to Mrs. Nga, the artist’s niece hired someone to take special care of him at the hospital. Mrs. Minh Nga goes to the hospital once a day to visit her husband.

For nearly 2 years now, People's Artist Tran Hieu and his wife have moved to Hanoi , staying at an acquaintance's house on Vong Thi Street, Hanoi. Mrs. Nga is the one who takes care of his health, helps him go to the hospital for regular check-ups, and reminds him to take his medicine.

5 years ago, artist Tran Hieu had an accident and broke his ribs. He had to receive long-term treatment. Since then, his health has deteriorated and he has to go to the hospital frequently.

"When he was weak, he said: 'Don't leave me.' I told him to rest assured, I was 72 years old and came from a good family, so I would always be by his side," said Mrs. Nga.

People's Artist Tran Hieu was born in 1936 in Hanoi. In 1954, he graduated from the Vocal Department of the Vietnam Music School (now the Vietnam National Academy of Music). After that, he became a singer at the Central Music and Dance Theater.

He studied at the Sofia Conservatory in Bulgaria for three years. From 1986 to 1991, he was a singer at the Youth Theatre.

He is famous for songs such as: The Elephant (Nguyen Xuan Khoat), Firecracker Song (Hoang Van), Leader Song (Luu Huu Phuoc), I am Le Anh Nuoi, ​​Funny Postman (Dam Thanh)...

He also trained many talented artists of vocal art such as: People's Artist Y Moan, People's Artist Thanh Hoa, People's Artist Quoc Hung, People's Artist Tan Minh, singer Trong Tan...
